An optional extra on the Fabia vRS is a switch to turn the passenger air bag off.

Audi does the same and has the passenger airbag on a switch
Anyway I dont think its possible to switch it off in an impreza without tampering with the wiring

You cannot switch off the airbag in a scoob (like you can on some other cars) so on that basis, do not put a child seat on the front seat.

You can turn them both off. Just have no idea how much it's going to cost to get them working again

spoke to a dealer today to confirm - you can't turn them off in a scoob without messing with fuses etc. I guess subaru never intended them to be a a baby carrier!
