I have a 3 year Old Red Boxer bitch and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the breed. She is my first Boxer and she did chew two things through the whole of her puppy hood (the corner of the wall, minor damage as probably didn't taste too good and the leg of one chair), But any dog will chew!. Boxers are puppies until the are 18mths old generally and they can be quite highly sprung. Mine however isn't, she is the most laid back dog I've ever seen. She is really well behaved, good with people, Kids and other dogs. I did take her to Puppy classes for the first 3months and also read a couple of books, the best of which and one I would recommend you must read is "The dog listener" by Jan Fennell. It doesn't take long too read and makes a lot of sense when it comes to understanding how to train and look after your puppy. I do believe a lot of the success we have had raising her is due to a good pedigree (Breeder) and following the logical steps the book explains. Hope this helps."

I can only add, that 'Ruby' has one of the greatest temperaments of any dog I have known.

I love boxer's, a close friend of mine has one and he's the most cutest thing in the world but boy does he chew things up!! He managed to break into my friends living room and chewed the sofa to bits, not just a corner but the whole thing was wrecked!!! Had to laugh but it wasn't funny, there was fluff everywhere!! Nice natured dogs though!!..
