not sure, it is YOU were talking about after all , and you are not as good as painting as me, so i thought i would give you some wise advice

the area you primered onto should have been keyed back IMO

looks like you have sprayed primer onto areas that have not been rubbed down, which is a waste of time

i know where you are coming from. i did over spray as the paper was loose, but its only a thinish layer and it will scotch off (hopefully). i will wash the car and take the primer back a bit with some 200 as well to take the shine off the original paint, i think and hopefully the new paint will blend in nicely, will that work ok, i know its a bit more work but its sortable

get the cellulose thinners out and wipe it off

if the primer/paint is not on a keyed surface, it will flake off in no time at all.

when blending, make sure that as you blend outwards, the new paint still lands on a keyed surface, otherwise when you try to polish it back, it will leave a visible edge, this means you key the surface well past the part you are painting, so the fresh paint can sink into the old paint, as long as the paint match is fine, it should come out fine.

but things always look better in primer, the **** hits the fan when the real paint comes out LOL

i painted quite a bit of my dents/repairs in gloss black 1st to check the reflections, before then primeing again and spraying the correct colour, worth thinking about, prep, prep, prep.

i wasnt sure if thinners would be ok on the paintwork. i have a glass bottle of the stuff. the white spirit wouldnt touch it. i used some fine earlier and it started to come off. ive only oversprayed by 2" at the most.i did mean to spray round most of the light, its just in the corner where it shouldnt be. i did scotch most of the area so the paint would have a key'd surface when i did it. so thinners it is then

i think i might have found my niche

UPDATE

i have managed to get the overspray off with thinners and have used T-Cut on the rest of the bumper.. to get the flies off for sticky micky

i am now going to finish sanding the primer until it is like glass

i am dreading painting the car

its amazing how many imperfections you find in fibre glass when you take the paint off. i will never get FG parts again, what a nightmare

i am flipping good

ive been in my gazebo spraying my car and its the nuts

i have sprayed the paint and added the lacquer(sp) and am serioulsly impressed that i have managed to carry it off. it was getting dark so i needed to put a light up, the only problem was keeping the moths off the paintwork. tomorrow i can have a look in the daylight and use the rubbing compound to get the finish i want

i only got one hair stuck to the paint

sticky....................no flies on me
