You're making yourself look a bit silly Vapid.

What do you believe in then, complete anarchy?

Although Vapid is being pretty "forthright", there is a central question a lot of people do wonder about.

Having an armed force to protect the UK is all well and good, but on what basis and to what extent do most service personnel agree with being in the Middle East, for example? You've got no say in it, you're there to put your life on the line at the whim of the UK administration. I know it's a decent job, but i wonder for how many on the front line it was just the best paid employment alternative they could find when they enrolled?

Of course there was a political element in the war, and of course there was and is a strategic role for the Islands which is important. I'm not denying it, but it wasn't the only reason.

Well spotted!

Likewise. Ulster has a protestant majority according to the census. Of course, as that's a fact you won't like you'll dismiss the source as a tool of the English oppressor or similar such bollocks...

SB

Ulster has a protestant majority but Ireland doesn't. As Northern Ireland is in fact a part of a greater Ireland any democratic vote should be taken on that basis ie the whole of Ireland.

As for your comments about the Islas Malvinas those 'facts' are not accepted by a large number of people, lagely due to them not being proved. I'm one of the people who believes the English claim is spurious.

As to the question, Do I believe in Anarchy? Yes I do but I doubt you understand what Anarchy actually means...................

I could always look anarchy up on Google, as you presumably did to find out who discovered the Falklands.

if you volunteer for the Armed Forces, you know exactly what you may be called on to do. Hoping it was just for peacetime service is no excuse to break the contract.

I already knew it was a Dutchman who discovered them as I've always been interested in why my country insists on it's sovereignty over a group of islands on the other side of the world which clearly belongs to another nation.
I looked in the encyclopedia for the date though.

As for anarchy you'd need more than the dictionary definition of the word to understand how people theorise an anarchic state would work in practice. For that you'd need to understand and think, both of which are probably beyond your limited capabilities.

The Sex Pistols knew about Anarchy (in the UK). I prefer their version. It's certainly more relevant and intelligent than some of the rhetoric spouted on here by one particular individual - and it was set to music...

They had a point for sure but I wouldn't agree that your rhetoric isn't intelligent or relevant. For example what you just said about the sex pistols- don't be so hard on yourself.

Shame you were wrong, though. Even the Argentine government recognises that the islands were discovered by the British... But hey - no doubt you know better through your superior intellect and inside knowledge of the great conspiracy.

By the way, why do you insist on referring to "English" everything rather than "British" when it's clearly not correct?

Vapid....Does this opinion go to all those men who fell in the 2 world wars protecting this country or to a modern day british military force?

What is the difference?

It would be the same guys that are in Afghan/Iraq that would protect you on your front doorstep today if another country tried to invade like they did 60 years ago!

Your attitude stinks buddy, you cant have many friends with opinions like ''our armed forces are murdering scum''

It isn't accepted by all Argentine people and isn't accepted as historical fact, at least not by many people.
I call them 'English' because it's part of an English colonial agenda that started when they invaded and occupied Scotland and Wales.

They didn't 'fall' in two world wars they were killed, if the annoying phrases thread still existed then I'd put that crappy euphemism in there.

Regarding WWII at least I wouldn't say they were murderers as such although I do find it hard to reconcile the idea of blanket bombing of German cities. In WWII there was a very good chance of invasion. Of course this scenario isn't one that would be possible today therefore the army of trained thugs we have at the moment wouldn't be required to defend this country. Rather they exist to put down other peoples and if need be the population at home.

Big feckin deal to your UNWRITTEN 'Code of Behaviour' (FPMSL)............ if you don't like it IGNORE it.......

And guess what?................. I don't care what you think......... you crawl all over these types of threads attempting to get into a 'righteous' argument with anyone that shows an opinion different to yours (which usually happens to be quite a few by the way)..........

And I believe your attempt to 'hook' the DCI has just failed miserably....

Vapid. Stringing a few grammatically correct, dictionary sourced words together doesn't make you intelligent either.

You hide behind a pseudonym and display a closed minded and vague approach to other points of view, usually topped off with name calling or a derogatory comment.

If you had an ounce of the intellect / superiority you claim to have, then your mind would be naturally open, inquisitive and able to respectfully appreciate that others have an opinion. Chucking a few childish names around and generally winding people up for some shallow immature pleasure says it all really; you have no respect for us or yourself.

I'll now simply add you along side PSLewis (and a few others) to my Troll list, because that is what you are.

Don't bother replying, I won't be answering.

To VAPID and DCI

I am currently serving and have done for the last 16 years still plenty to do. The armed forces do a lot more than just sit around waiting for the next fight. I think you have been watching to many re-runs of "Universal Soldier the return" with them all sat on a bench waiting to move.
What would have happened during the fire stikes if the armed forces had not stepped in. Would you have voluntered to tackle house fires and the likes risking your life to save others. It is due to the training we do and the command structure instilled in us that allows these extra tasks to be completed safely.

Vapid. If your name was Rabid I could make allowances for you. Perhaps you get your kicks from winding people up.
You have insulted many people here who have served their country. Something I doubt you will have any perception of.
Your grasp on history, (not from an English perspective) is skewed.
In the world I live in, you would not be protected behind your key board to make such insults.
Dream your ideals and grasp a skewed view of the world from the isolated environment in which you live.

Loser, look who is talking. You obviously do not know what it means to be part of a team, working towards one common goal. People are very quick to condem peoples actions, but would equally condem the lack of action.

A serious question (if you can manage it); What were your thought on the genecide going on in Pristina?
PS get some time in before insulting others on this forum.

A bit of information for you if your thick brain can manage it. The firemen actually broke from their picket lines during the strike if life was at risk. So if the ethos of the strike was that in life or death situations the strke would be suspenede. Then how can anyone be called a strikebreaker? You clearly need to continue to take or even increase the dosage of medication you are taking to keep your brain just off going into a comma. So
