Em youre probably just hearing the fuel pump, the walboros are louder than an OE pump.
Tell taz to come in the Saff on thursday, id love to have a look
In answer to his question it all depends on the chassis spec of the cossie. A Spec C would do an average 500bhp cos on track and on bumpy B roads but anywhere near a straight and the cossie would rape the impreza.
Massively depends on the setup of the car. As a standard car the Spec C is lightyears infront of the ford but with a propper setup on a 4x4 saff or escort the scoob would be in bigtime trouble.
Yeah scoobs dont rust as bad, but ther aint nothin like the rush of a even a decent stg 3 cos, and all this crap about them blowing up is ****.. build one properly and they are bulletproof.
I kicked the granny out of my 350+bhp 4x4 for over 18 months and she never skipped a beat. Out of all the cars i raced in it, evos, scoobs, porsches, NSX's, TVR's, M3s nothing came close except 1.. that was an 04 Lotus Esprit V8 twin turbo.
Side by side @ 165mph and nither of us were going anywhere... id expect it too for a 65K car

Yep, I must admit I look at the cossie and think "raw" power, but when I look at the scooby I think it has a different type of power....not sure what?
I'll ask him if he'll bring it down. The cossie he has now is ok, needs a bit of TLC (and Frayz cleaning!!) but he is in two minds whether to keep and modify or sell on and get something else. He's been offered a Series 1 Turbo, but just don't think he'd suit it?
I'm sure you'd convince him to keep and modify!!!!!!
Why 20 posts setting???????

Many a time I've sat on the hard shoulder, with the cossie bonnet up, waiting for the RAC!! Oh, those were the days!!!! I remember one time Taz blew a QUAIFF (sp) diff up on Santa Pod track, and we had to push the car to the outside of Santa pod, as RAC wouldn't pick us up otherwise!! Didn't realise how long Santa Pods drive was til that day!!!!!!!

he done well to kill a quaife!! yup rac / aa don't want to know unless you're back on the public road. santa pods drive is a bit on the long side isn't it. wouldn't fancy having to push a cossie all the way down it!!

Spoke to Taz, he can't get car down to HH due to lack of tax, BUT I am trying to get him to come along, so if he does, have a chat with him.
