Don't let them get away with it Sara, could happen to someone else too. Take it back to show them and complain bitterly.

Hope your daughter is ok.

Sarah telephone your local council dept and ask for piblic health dept, they will come out to your house take it away and test it and inform the company, don't send it back to the company they will fob you off. I done this with a packet of crisps a few years ago there was a fried fly stuck to the crisps anyway after about 3-6 wks got a letter of apology and 30quid gift voucher from the company

ive been to the Enviromental Health bods and given them the offending item. they say it is the worst 'jellyfish' they have seen in a drink before

while i was there i got a call from one of the bosses......he rang my mobile from Germany but only told me at the end of the call that i might have to pay for part of the call anyway, he seemed very worried.........the wheels are in motion

Apart from the fact that your daughter might have been made ill from this, and that I now feel very queazy, this is a top thread !!!!

Sara ........ Go girl

How did it get there though? Looks like it grew, and then that makes me think that there must be thousands of other P*nd* drinks out their with microscopic jellyfish in them

How do you expect your daughter to build up her immune system? Just get it down her neck and be done with it

In my day you never left the table until it was all gone (and yes that did once include a bowl of rice crispies with milk that had well and truly gone off).

lol, thanks

i am getting phone calls left right and center now from the 'jellyfish people. they have told me that the bottles are for single use only and are all pasteurised and cleaned etc in sterile conditions, as well as the drinks containing preservatives. i asked about 'quality control' and have been told that they are checked all the way through production.

BTW they are the same mauufactures as Vimto

i will never buy a drink again if i cant see through the bottle

Yep, he is. As long as you are on a UK network, in the UK, the person abroad will pay all the charges. Same if you phone them, they are roaming so they pay the international leg of the call. You only pay the published rate for phoning the UK network.

My Mum was an EHO and they tend to sort "bad" things like this pretty quick. Hope all goes well!

I done a short temp contract at Wyeth labs(part of the whitehall group) and they had something very similar once where a fibre drink they made had mould growing in it.

Turned out that the caps were delivered in cardboard packaging and for some reason where not washed properly.

Thanks to the QA dept for finding a sample before it left the door otherwise that could have been nasty (due to it being a fibre drink the fungus grew at am alarming rate)

Might be worth speaking to someone at The Sun to ensure the threat of bad publicity keeps things moving.......
