A P1 isn't a Type R with bits removed, it best described as a V6 4 door built into a 2 door bodyshell with Type R suspension. Bit more complex than that as some parts were fitted in Japan and more were fitted in the UK but it's more correct than saying it's a low spec Type R."
Thats a white V5 type -R

I posted a thread on here and on the type R-RA register a few weeks ago trying to find any type R WRC V/LTD's.I've managed to track down 5 so far in this country.A guy on the R-RA register thought there were 10 in the uk

I bought it over a year ago after smashing up my MY97 Sport and only paid 2k for it. I already new about the GL's being imported prior to buying this but once I had bought it I started searching the various forums to see what I could find out. The car is exactly like a wrx should be apart from a gl vin plate. The car also came with an ali bonet, ali wishbones, electric folding mirrors, prova ecu running 1.2 bar, td05, blitz boost/turbo timer, bailey dump valve, unknown filter which has now beed change for an R1 and ohlins adjustable suspension which has 35 settings and is very firm. I have since added rear box, de-cat and some STi 17's.
From what I could find out my car has all the signs of being one of the early imports so I wrote to Subaru uk and tried to get confirmation. it clearly states in my log book that it is a Subaru GL and was registered in the uk Dec 92. Subaru UK confirmed that they had imported it but weren't willing to disclose any other information to me. I am also thinking of writing to Prodrive just to see if there is some truth as nobody seems to know for sure.

I would say the rarest Subarus are the secretely kept 360bhp standard jap version 22b's or the version 8 s202. Like the one on VSBOYZ on DA CARS PAGE

Yep, that's my old car, very nice it was. The new guy needed a rebuild several months after I sold it to him I believe. I was going to take the mud flaps off if I was going to keep it along with the headlight protectors. They both totally spoil the look of the car IMHO.

You have 1 in white
I have 1 in white
Someone else on here has a white one
Someone else on here has a silver/grey one
and that will be all due to the changes in import requirements.
BTW I love the brake conversion on yours, can you give me an idea of price for the front and back.
Regards
Mog

I`m not sure how true this claim can be, but it would be nice for me if it were...
I own a Version 1 WRX RA (19 years old now) and still going strong..
I do know that the V1 WRX RA`s were nearly all either white or blue... With a "Very" small number making it out in Red (25 is a number I read somewhere).
Mine is Red. I don`t know how many of the red V1`s have been imported to the UK, or how many have survived round the world.
Due to the fact that my model is 19 years old, not many can be left at all. With write off`s, stripped, rotting etc...
So, A Red Version 1 WRX RA must be up there with the rarest (And Oldest)

Nah, 25 each year, all they were, were standard cars sold for around 33k but they had ALL the optional extra's fitted, recaro's, wheels, spoiler, PIAA's, aircon, suspension etc, whatever was in the options book (and numbered by prodrive as they fitted all the parts).
