Hi Guys
I was pointed to this thread by a mate with a scooby....
I own a Astra GSI... Blue one like in the piccy.... I've done a few mods, decat, air box derestriction, whiteline rear anti roll bar.
Next mod will be a large FMIC, VXR turbo which is only 400 quid and VXR injectors which are 190. After a remap it'll be knocking on the door of 300bhp.
Now with the Rear anti roll bar it handles lovely. Mine does keep up with standard WRX's but with the standard map the wrx seems to pull better at higher rpm which overall makes the wrx slightly faster and yes if its damp it is hard to get the power down. But once your in second its not a problem. What I liked about it is its group 15 insurance, cheaper to run than a scooby and a turbo.....
Back to the post, why would you buy a scooby if you didnt want that kind of attention? Also why did you start to race him then give up? Yes if he indangered other road users that does make him a N0B but dont tar all vauxhall owners with the same brush. Also cam belts are serviced at 40k on these so they dont snap.....

I had a similar experience a few weeks ago on the M6 in Cumbria with a Vauxhall Astra driving kn*b.
Driving along with wife and kids in the car at about 85, cruise past the Astra driving kn*b and he suddenly pulls out and sits on my back bumper so I pull in and let him past. He hurtles off at warp factor 9 for a few hundred yards before pulling into the inside lane and dropping back to about 50. I carry on at a steady 85 and cruise past him again only for him to pull out and sit on my back bumper until I pull over and let him past again. This went on about 5 times until he got bored and I ended up with a car full of frightened wife and kids.
I wonder if the police will get him before he dies or gets smacked round the head with a baseball bat?
