Any news on the flicking on-off-on question from a while ago?
Also has anybody had to re-align their lights. I have two kits fitted (dip and main) on a 55 STi and now find that if I set the dips so that I don't get flashed, the main is too low. Is it possible to adjust the alignment of the individual units by some mechanical means ?
Cheers, Steve

I did ask about that flicking thing a couple times but both times still waiting on their technical to come back to me... its an issue never been brought up b4 to the manufacturers.
What exactly was the issue with 'flicking'? Was it switching between high and main beam to flash other motorists?

MISTAKE!!
got a 2002 bug eye. looked in the scooby manual and it said i needed H1 bulbs so thats what i ordered. ive actually had a morette headlight conversion and the bulbs i needed were H7!!!!! had no paperwork or documentation telling me that!
annoyingly, ive now got H1 hid lights instead of H7. they still boxed up, brand new and unused/untouched!
alex00s, any chance of getting them changed or swapped, i still really want them but just need the right bulbs!!!
(there was no email address on the invoice so couldnt ask directly)
any help/advice appreciated.

Ok I can see 2 options...
1. someone thats after H7's can buy direct from you and post them out to that person (at £22 cost to you) or they could collect from you - bonus.
2. you send them back and you'll have to cover the postage to send there and receive the new bulbs (2x £22 = £44 - ouch).
Either way you're gonna be out of pocket... expensive way means you'll have the correct bulbs in literally days, the other way you could be waiting donkeys to shift them?
Let me know what you wanna do - if you decide to do it the pricey way I'll get intouch with my contact and arrange it for you immediately!

If you want - I could buy your H1 HID kit - for my 2003 WRX. That way you can re-order the correct H7's?
Where abouts are you based?

Quick question for those with the H4 bi kits, is the bulb similar to this:
H4/9003 Bi-Xenon HID Bulb
H4 Hi/Lo HID Bulb
H4/9003 Bi-Xenon HID Bulb
The H4/9003 Bi-Xenon bulbs in the bi-xenon kit stay fixed and there is a shield that covers and uncovers the capsule of the xenon bulb as you switch from low to high beam, thus changing the beam pattern. The high beam gives an upward projection and the low beam gives a forward projection. You will maintain the same beam pattern with dramatic increase in intensity and distance.
or
or
H4 Hi/Lo HID Bulb
H4/9003 Hi/Lo HID Conversion Kits Converts only Low Beam to HID, high beam will be replaced with a halogen bulb.
Thanks

It seems that everyone fitting the H1 to their newage have had to realign the dipped. Most however haven't fitted the main beam.
How do you find the main beam HID..? I would imagine they're a bit slow to react given they take a few seconds to reach full intensity..?

Jasonius,
I actually only bought the main beam units first. They were amazing in comparison to the standard lights. The problem I found though, was there was a huge contrast difference when I went back to dipped beam and dip appeared very yellow, so I bought the dips as well.
Main beam does take about three seconds to reach full brightness, but only the first time they are used, or if they have been off for a while, and I havn't found it a major problem.
With the dips fitted, the main beam does not seem as impressive though. I guess it is only because the dips are so much better.
Steve.

I 'tried' to get my HID's in 2day... but as Matt has found, there's no plug and play... (guessing you have a new age Scooby)...
Even with the aid of Ryans walkthru I couldnt suss it - mainly coz the walkthru is for H4 bi-xenon and I've got a set of H1 and H3.
As I'm the bloody GB initiator, I'm very embarrassed that I couldnt get past laying the wires out on the table and connecting them up!
I found I had too many male connections and not enuf female... thats just gay as you will agree, but can I ask advise from someone thats fitted these to a blob eye??
ps: still very embarrassed!

Alex,
I've fitted H1 kit to my blobeye with no prob. I assume by plug and play you mean the wiring to connect directly to the vehicle loom. These are already fitted through the grommets that are attached to the bulb wiring (4 wires through 4 holes, 2 for HV for the HID bulb and 2 ordinary male tab connectors on the bulb end going to a custom plug for the ballast). I removed mine and used the relay harness for peace of mind.
All the plug and play connections are male tabs as the vehicle wiring in the headlights are both female connectors, one off the back of the bulb (H1) and one on the earth connection on the bulb holder. I did find the earth male connector tab was too small on the relay harness and had to be replaced with a standard sized one. Does this help.
Cheers, Diccy.
PS I bought the 4300K bulbs and they are brilliant in both senses.
PPS Realigned lights on my garage wall, went for MOT last Friday and passed with no comment.

HID's H1 wiring - Blobeyes
I've got the low & high sets to install on WR1.
Had a look last w/e only partially installed so far - went and bought wire crimping kit from Halfords (c£7.00) and heat shrink sleeving.
The low beam wiring is a liitle problematic as the connections from the relay coil (which are black and white) have spade connectors and these ideally need to connect to the existing grey plug (or is it a socket) which connects to lamp.
To overcome this I have decided to leave the plug connected, take the new relay wires through the new large grommet into the back of the lamp unit and crimp on some new male spade connectors which will then connect to the existing female connectors. Can use heat shrink sleeving to insulate.
Cutting off the optional direct plug and play wiring through grommet provides holes for relay wires.
Will need to make hole in the large plastic cover to fit grommet.
(By the way a new plastic rear cover with wiring/socket etc. is £30.00 +VAT from Subaru Pt. No. 84953FE100.)
The high beam loom looks more straightforward.
Just need more dry weather to finish.
Mike

Thanks guys for that wiring info, but its still gobbledygook to me...
I'm gonna try having another look at it after a few cups of strong coffee and see if with your helpful hints I can solve it.
I know I'm gonna end up paying someone to do it, lol!
Anyone wanna save me the bother and jump in right now?

Hi Guys,
I just bought myself a classic impreza (1997) and dont know much about them but agree with everyone the lights are crap as standard. Been looking into buying a HID kit but have heard roumors that the heat off the bulbs could melt the plastic reflectors inside the headlamps? Has anyone had this problem or is it just a myth?
