put mine on the same night that i got them,put my balast under my fog light covers so i did not have to take bumper off,
could not reach the negative on battery so put the wire to the chassis they work a treat apart from i need to have the lights re-aligned at garage

Its an old wives tale mate... in actual fact I'm sure someone on here early on pointed out that standard halogens burn at a higher temp than the HID's!

Got mine today (altho been at a neighbours for a couple of days), delivery time like everyone else was very quick. The lights themselves excellent quality, really impressed with the wiring and what's included so they really are a steal @ £135. Laid them all and everything is complete just have to work out how to get the 3 pronge thing hooked into my existing wiring (not checked scoob yet so may just be plug in, here's hoping). My only complaint would have to be the lack of packing to keep the things safe in transit, they were packed in just a plastic tnt packet with zero bubble wrap or padding, net result is damage to one corner of the box altho contents do look ok.

All fitted and very happy . The quality of the light output is stunning (alright everyone has said that already but in the flesh it's just blows you away more than even i expected), really remarkable kit for the money .



Went down the route of fitting the kit behind the bumper (for the oe / tidy look) which was interesting to say the least, 5 mins to fit the kit and 2 hours to prise the bumper off and on again .

Has anyone had an MOT test with their HID kit fitted? I read an article about these HID kits having terrible beam patterns through standard lenses.

I've heard similar, not terrible as such but some beam leakage. Through crystal lens tho it's not a problem as they have no pattern to them.

Ordered set last week, took 4 days to deliver from Canada.......Ordered an air filter from Leeds and it takes 2 weeks! WHY?

Lights look good quality...first Group Buy I have taken part in.

Will look out for more in the future.

ordered kit last wednesday night come 7.30am monday they arrived from canada now thats fast looking at kit well worth the £105 now just got to fit it

is the best place to fit the ballasts underneath headlamps to save removing the bumper?
might aswell de tango and change sidelights for leds while i have got lamps out

Just a quick update regarding the eBay link...

As you may know from what I've passed on b4, Genuine Auto had problems around Xmas time with regards to the Ebay store and since now its still down... They have now decided that eBay is more hassle than its worth and will soon be looking to have their own web site - but this is still in the prelim stages.

For anyone that wants to order as you can see Genuine Auto is still trading and building a huge client data base.

MOT answer.

I put H1 kit on my 03STi (dip only), realigned the lights on the garage wall, I'd say the cut off wasn't quite as well defined as Phillips VP but hard to tell as they're so much brighter. I'm not getting any objections from oncoming traffic.

Had MOT 2 weeks ago and passed no problem.

I have one H1 kit (suitable for new age dips) & one H3 kit (suitable for all yrs spot lights) for sale, brand new... 12000k.

I was going to fit them to MY02 WRX however circumstances have changed and these have never been fitted and are now available. Not the most desirable colour by far, but someone may be interested?

Anyone got any tips for adjusting the beam so it's an ideal height? I've got it booked in on Saturday at my local garage / mot station but i've got several dark mornings / evenings to go first. Is there a rule of thumb like 3m away from a wall and so high or similar? Thanks.

Personally I dont know about the classic morettes, but I'm sure I've seen a few ppl on here HID those... back track thru the thread coz I've def seen atleast one pic up of morettes?

But I'd guess the fitting is the same as any single beam HID conversion?

Hi Alex,

Yup - there's some who've fitted the H4 to the outer lamp for main beam. However, I'd like to fit them to the inner, dip beam (as that's the worst).

Now that the Ebay shop has gone, I don't know if the guys in Canada do the HIDs in an H2 fitment - which is what Simbo & I'd need for the dip beam.

Any chance you could pass our enquiry along to them please?

Well I have decided to take the plunge and purchase a set of these HID's. Should be interesting as the most I can do car wise is replace wiper blades!

Anyway what sort of LED's are you guys using for the sidelights, and where can I get some from please?

Might even attempt de-tango at the same time (MY03)...but only if the g/f is out.

Hey Steve,

Genuine Auto do HID's in H2 bulbs... there's actually very few bulbs (if any) that they dont supply in HID application!

Get the car on a level surface and measure the height from the ground to the headlight marker (small circle with a cross through it). Mark that height on a wall. Park the car 1m away from the wall and adjust the headlightso that the horizontal cut off line is 1% below the marked line (1cm) or what ever is marked on the headlamp (usually 1% but can be 1.2%). This can be done at 10m from the wall and 10cm below obviously etc. Make sure the electric headlamp levelling is at zero too.

Hi Alex I'm back now so was gonna order my kit, just a quick bit of info please? How do I actually order the kit and just to verify that for a MY99 Type R I would need 1 Bi-xenon kit 6000K??
