NEWSFLASH !!!

The lump is ready to go back in the car

I'm on my way up the garage now to take a few pics and i shall post them up later on

Spec list so far:
ACL Pistons
ACL Bearings
H section Rods
STi V8 X-Drilled Crank
ARP Head studs
AP Organic Clutch
550cc Injectors
Walbro Fuel pump
Fuel Lab Regulator
Goodridge Braided Hoses
RCM Pulley Set
Hose Set
Front Mount Intercooler
Induction Kit
My shiney water pipe

RCM modified oil pump is being delivered this week hopefully
Lateral Performance MD321H Turbo will be purchased late February, along with Apexi AVC-R.

I have been advised to run the car on the standard turbo for about 1500miles and then it's off to Bob Rawle's for the mapping session...
"between turbo and actuator is connected two pipes and a tee piece back to the two port solenoid, remove the pipes from turbo and actuator and connect the two points directly with one pipe, make sure it’s a good tight fit on each end, that will limit you to 0.5 bar boost. You need to put some progressive load on it and really it needs to have done 1500-1800 miles before mapping"

Does anyone know where i can the poly bushes from ? I want to change them all on the suspension to tighten it up.

How much is the MD321H turbo? And what's the max output? If you don't mind me asking

The cost of the MD321H includes new gaskets, studs, oil & water fittings, and a braided oil feed line.
Price: a tad over £1500

Mark from Lateral has told me that they have had 425bhp out of a 321H, on a Dyno Dynamics rolling road

I have just returned from the garage

Update:-
The RCM oil pump is cancelled.
Dave has already fitted a GGR modified oil pump....

The FMIC is fitted

The engine is sitting on the bench, all shiney and clean and ready to go....
I know i said i'd take a few pics but i got so excited that i forgot

Hopefully she'll be a bit quicker mate....

I think i'm going to have to cut that number plate mounting out though as its going to be restrictive and i'm looking to fix some sort of protective cover/mesh just behind bumper so no stones go slamming through the FMIC

Or on a hinge so it folds back when pressing on for max flow, just like some of the rally cars

I've just ordered a new plate as the one i was sent originally is a lil bit small.

I've put the note in for size comparison

I'm liking the idea of the hinge. Would it be possible to fit a relay and electric hinges to retract the plate at the flick of a switch ???
Not sure if i have enough room in there now though for it to fold up

Its a simple set up, when parked or at slow speeds the plate hangs down as normal then as you start pressing on the plate swings back with the force of the air flow.
Seen it on loads of rally cars but your bumper may need the o/e plate base removed.

Spoke to the garage today

The engine is in and plumbed in and they were due to start it up this afternoon.
I have to phone in the morning to see how its going and to get my final bill and fingers crossed, i might have the car back on saturday

Stuck with the dilemma then though, do i tax it and lose a months worth or do i wait until Thursday and start it from 01/02/07

My head is all over the place. Ideally i dont want to lose a months tax but at the same time, i really want my car back

Just take it and blend in. You wouldn't want to be seen in the BM again at a Scooby meet would you? ;-) Go on Go on Go on.

The car isnt gonna be ready.

The FMIC pipe is too close to the Battery and there is a small oil leak from the side of the oil pump so the rad has to come out again...

Also, the induction kit doesn't quite fit

Does anyone know what sort of induction kit i can use with a FMIC ? Has to be a decent one

most of thte FMIC get close to the battery +, just put a extra samco round it so the terminal doesn't touch the metal pipe work. I use a K&N induction on mine, never had a problem,

But the daddy is the RCM one, this uses a K&N filter but a custom trumpet

Get the RCM filter, fantastic bit of kit, I went through a few induction kits before fitting this one, will post a pic up later for you.

Cost is £230, this is injclusive of a samco air hose and VAT.

Speak to Ollie at RCM - 01455 828610, he's a top bloke, be able to sort you out.
