even if they didnt have a knife on them, they would both likely be able to overpower you and take the keys anyway.

How about having an old set of useless keys on you at all times. Lob them and when they go fetch em drive off...

Distract them, punch one in the throat and kick the other in the b*llocks, if it floors them, put a few more kicks in. If not, RUN!

Nasty, but they would deserve it.

could there be a market for dummy keys here? give said scum the non-working key, let them get in. Whilst they are sitting there thinking they are Bertie Bigbollox, lock the car with the real key and phone the old bill.

Or whistle up a few mates

I'd like to think if I didn't see the weapon I'd tell them to **** off or try and bluff them that I was armed myself.

More realistically I think I'd throw my house keys as far way from me as possible in their direction and leg it the other way- assuming there was somewhere to go nearby.

You would end up loosing your car anyway, the scum bags would possibly press charges if you managed to kick the living daylights out of them. Cant drive when your locked up.
Hard to say what I would do but they would have to work a lot harder than I did to get it

Hand over the keys, but that will do them no good as I will do a runner straight. away and hit the panic button on the immobilser fob which is still safely hidden in my pocket.

Now there's a thought A second key which only activates the immobiliser for a short period of time, bit like Blackjax. I know the car would end up stationary on a dual carriageway somewhere, but sooner that than it ends up burnt out in a field

Bit dangerous that, doing 60 on a duel carriage way and the engine cuts out... no power steering, corner bump. Ouch. Good for damaging the thieves but who knows what else they'll hit.

This sounds uncannily like what happened to a friend of mine. His name was Kevin from Halifax was all over national news at the time. Are we thinking of the same person ?

It should be in the Alarm handbook that came with your car. this only locks the doors when the ignition is on and the doors are closed, if a door is open then the system does not activate.

The renault system is better only activates when you are traveling at 10mph or more, until you turn the ignition off.

I think this is the stupidest thread I've ever seen on SN???

How can anyone say what they would do unless faced with this scenario for real.

I see there are loads of real hard men on here (keyboard warriors more like )

Mods - I think this thread should be moved to the muppet forum where it belongs....

Its times like that that I'm glad I know self defence(Wing Chun) if they did have a knife it wouldn't be for long ......Now if they had a gun that's different you can only dodge bullets with Kung Fu in films.

Quite write I've been mugged twice in the past luckily not at knife point, you don't always react the way you would think that's why I did some self defence but even then unless you've trained for years you can never be 100% shore of how you will react.

Hang on guys no win situation here!

Scenario 1>
You hand over your keys 5 miles down the road they crash and sue you for a faulty window switch or something!

Scenario 2>
You kick the crap out of them and they sue you for assault.

Scenario 3>
You lob your keys and run.
They cut a finger on a thorn and sue you anyway cuz they can!

Scenario 4>
They pull a knife and cut a finger by accident guess what your being sued!
