If you want to live in peace with your neighbours ask them first, especially if your having more than one. Your neighbour may have to put up with a reduction of garden wildlife, loss of plant life or parts of their lawn, cat waste in parts of the garden and missing fish from their pond.
My wife and I run our local residents group and cats are becoming an increasing cause of friction between neighbours.
One couple who live a few doors away from me have 7 cats (they haave had upto 13), I'm not treading the ground down again on this thread but I've tried everything to keep them away.
Our two local councillors are behind us and we are trying to get a maximum of two cats per house passed for the area. Unfortunately even if we get it through it will be for new residents only.
I really hope the couple I've mentioned above enjoy their cats because none of the people who live nearby talk to them anymore and after some very angry words were exchanged they have stopped attending the residents meetings.
Many cat owners do not understand the grief and frustration that neighbours can have when cats invade their garden. Maybe worth having a re-think before you fetch one.
Cheers
Lee.
PS sorry for spelling/grammer, Late+Wine.
