what a superb band
saw them 4 years running at hammersmith odeon
mark king never wanted to be the singer
he was told by polydor that they would never make it as an instrumental
hence "love games"
"early tapes" is the one to have
my phone ring tone is "tracy"
yes, you could say that i like them
hope i'm not showing my age Ed
level 42
some say the band were named after the tallest car park in the world
others believe it was from the hitchhickers guide to the universe

budgie

BTW, if you like mark king try "influences"
good cover of creams "i feel free"

As a footnote to this thread - If you think Mark King and Level 42 are good - check out Stanley Clarke especially the album Rocks Pebbles and Sand

"Throughout Alan's career, he often appeared at Music Fairs, hired by Fender to demonstrate their amplifiers and guitars. During 1989 Alan played at the British Music Fair, but it was apparent from his appearance that he was not well. On the afternoon of 19th October 1989, weakened by AIDS virus, Alan died of pneumonia in Westminster City Hospital, near to his old school."

Early house classics and a bit of early trance is about as far back as I like to go now. Dont You Want Me by Felix is the cut-off...
