as far as i know its a version 3 sti jap import according to the VIN plate No GC8D4ED - i dont know anything about any other plates
the picture you have chosen to put up is to show the brake servo calliper
which is an aftermarket add on to assist with heavy braking - so if thats covering something - i dont know
I shall investigate further
In answer to your question - NO I havn,t done anything to make it look any different to what it is

Sorry to ask but is that the red paint flaking off the inlet manifold in the 3rd to last picture ?. I'm interested but would like to know whether its a definate STi or not.
This quoted Applied Model Number confirms that the car is as described; theres no doubt at all. You are mistaken about a 'serial plate' too. The original 1994 STI had a commemorative plate on the (near side) inner wing near to the build plate; later cars did not.

Thanks for that Simon - I knew it was a geniuine STI it was just a case of proving it.

Yes it is a genuine red top engine - but as with most STI,s of this age, the red paint flakes off due to the heat.
