It's not a question of how right or wrong you were, if you get caught breaking the law and they can trace you then you're fcuked. The fact you are ignorant of the law is no defence, in fact to my mind it makes the whole thing worse.
Maybe try slowing down to the limit by the time you reach the start of it and you wouldn't start a bitching thread on here.

Another poster asked my qualifiactions as a driver, nothing special, just the IAM, various driver training courses and years of experience driving varied vehicles over 100's of thousands of miles.
So ******* what if you have got those qualifications to drive any piece of paper does not tell someone else you are a better driver.

All of the Delivery drivers who drive for initial citylink where i live are all Advanced motorists and 3 of them are instructers but looking at the way they drive there vans you wouldnt believe it.

There is a couple of places in Cambridge that are a 30 that should be a 40 in my opinion especially the twin lane bridge coming out of town, but in general and especially in built up areas 30 is 30 for a good reason! you can call me an old git if you like mate but in built up areas I usually go below 30, 35 or more in a built up area is just bl**dy stupid, my sister was hit by someone with a very similar attitude whilst crossing at some lights. Speeding on a motorway or A road fine but don't do it in built up areas!

Oh and I dont think hes a crap driver as he did slow down.

He's a crap driver because he was ignorant of the rules. By definition this makes him a poor driver. Certainly by being unaware of something as basic as 'when do I have to do 30mph'.

BTW I don't claim to be a good driver or to obey all speed limits. I am however aware of the rules that apply to me when I'm driving.

Did you learn anything from todays postings about the rules that apply to you on the road? Or will the snooper be enough to make up for your ignorance?

I'm still bothering as there is still a discussion in progress on a thread I've contributed to and I have some valid points to make.

I have no idea what 'program' you are talking about.

I have a girlfriend.

You asked a question, I highlighted your gross incompetence. I gave you an answer. You didn't like it.

Being 'not the worst' driver isn't anything to be crow about either. Why not use this as an opportunity to improve your skills which are evidently lacking even the most basic framework to build on?

Sums up the thread fairly succinctly I believe.

It's funny how vapid has to 'trample' all over somebody, just to either make them shut-up, or agree!
This is a 'public' forum Vapid!

Vapid - complete aside here but I note from another thread that you state you only post on Scoobynet when you are at work. How you can be so critical of others whilst clearly defrauding your employer is beyond me.

I'm on holiday before you ask..............

What has your contention that I'm 'defrauding' my employer have to do with the poor driving and knowledge of the person who asked the question?

In any case I'm allowed to do what I want in my office as long as the the projects are completed. I daresay I'd even get away with ordering in pizza or a film or two if I wanted. Anyway I'd argue contributing to scoobynet keeps me sharp as my employment involves a certain amount of debate and the ability to express oneself in writing.

Oh and dean, you may well think I'm 'sad' but at least I can drive............

Because you are obviously a 'dishonest' person, so the moral wisdom which you provide, now has little weight.

It has been said that they were going to make Radar and laser detectors illegal but it hasn't happened yet. So you are still ok to use them.

Maybe a couple of useful sites for people:

www.speedtrapbible.co.uk

UK Speedtrap Guide. radar detector comparison, compare radar detector, gatso, speeding, speedtrap, gatso camera, blinder, uk speed trap, speed trap uk

I think the term is inappropriate speed, is going 90 mph on a dry empty motorway a bad thing? At least he was reducing his speed, a lot of others wouldn't. Not everyone drives EXACTLY within the law, and they never will.

Fair enough although I'd find this hard to believe if your employer had any desire to be profitable. Productivity is the key. I'd hate to think one of my staff was "surfing the net" if they had spare time on their hands. Your employed to do "projects" whatever they may be. Pretty sure trolling isn't one of them.

You'd certainly get that if you worked for me mate. You could happily "debate" why you feel you should keep hold of your job and could then "express yourself in writing" whilst updating your CV for your next job interview.

Could have sworn they mad it illegal , its a bit out of order really that they would even consider it as when I bought my snooper the advertising around it had a police promotion theme saying it was good for road safety.

It isn't 'moral wisdom' it's the highway code. I haven't moralised at all in this thread.
Neither am I dishonest in this context at least, my employer knows full well I do whatever I want.

My employer is an oil company, productivity in the way you understand it, doesn't matter to them. What matters is results and I get them. Thus why I was head hunted for the position.
The chances of me working for you in whatever grubby little business you do is minimal.
I'm not your 'mate' either and neither do I wish to be.

How quaint you have a 'boss'. Personally I have certain responsibilities which I'm required to meet and as long as I achieve those aims I'm free to do whatever I please. Sadly they don't yet have a scheme where I can do all the work in 2 days then **** off home for the rest of the week.

10% + 2mph; so at 35mph youre very much on the threshold of prosecution. Not all Scamera partnerships observe the ACPOs guidelines though so you may well be prosecuted for driving at 31mph.

quaint lol you cant have that many responsibility's if you can get all the work done in two days I'm just a lowly C.G.Artist and I've been in 6 days a week up to now and just in case you were wondering I have this week off.....Really think you need to chill mate and as I'm probably not helping I shut up now.

lol MATE. So hurtful A good job all companies don't have employees with the same ethos. Where would our economy be?

In fairness you're right though. The oil company will still make massive profits with or without your hard work so at least we'll agree on that.

I think the chances are slightly higher than "minimal" but I guess YOU have to keep your employment options open eh? I dont employ nor head hunt WASTERS in my grubby business so don't be too disappointed if our paths don't cross

I'll let you get on. I can see you're busy
