Nathanb. Dont jump down his throat - You asked the question & he answered...

Besides, "progressive breakaway" doesnt automatically mean the driver is a "tit". It simply means that tyres loose grip gradually rather than suddenly, and applies to all qualities of tyres operating at all speeds....

...and that's all he had to write instead of saying its worrying I don't understand about progressive breakaway and a load of exclamation and question marks. He was being patronising. Thats what I took offence to.

Apology accepted. I think my original post (tried) to add humour with all the punctuation. When you did it though it looked bad from my point of veiw. Silly mistake. I'm sorry for the snap reply.

i doubt you would be unhappy with either of the set of tyres really, they are both good. How good are you though would you notice the difference in the real world, do you normally get through tyres easily or do yours last ages

Very true Nathan, but I came out on top. One BBS-knobber trying to be clever and failing.

i've tried them both on mine and found the eagle f1's to be better on my car setup. They seemed a lot better when the roads were really wet over the toyo's. I've just put a set of continentals on the front of mine as i have been reccomended them. If i was buying again i would probably go for the toyo's because of the better value. Just my 2p's worth though!

Eagles every time. Someone may well take exception to this, but in recent years the only reason anyone I knew personally ran on Toyos was because they were cheaply thrown in with a new set of rims and for a time they were the only reasonably priced 18" tyres you could get. Maybe they're different now, but I found that as soon as they had a little wear in them they were a bit unpredictable in the wet. Eagles have never ever given me any surprises regardless of wear, whether they were the old GS-D2 design or the current GS-D3.

IMHO Toyo aren't that much different from the likes of those cheap alloy package tyres that you get e.g. Marangoni, Nankang etc etc. I think when they introduced the R888 they made a move in the right direction and showed they were serious about the performance tyre market. Perhaps their current range are better than they used to be?
