We should have a state sponcered "Running Man" show, where the crims go up against some bad ****** with chainsaws, flame throwers etc. This can take place on either a small island or on a disused oil rig. This will be paid for by the public, much like big brother phone-in votes, on which criminal are nominated to go "running". This will provide entertainment and reduce prision population, and no human rights will be infringed since the island/oil rig will be expempt.

Glad to hear you have never had to smack your children, you are very lucky that they have grown up like that. Must be the way you taught them. I have known families who are have children like that too.
I would never agree to indiscriminate smacking but when they deserve it for serious misbehaviour I think it should be used to teach them when they are in the wrong.

Peter Brant - Your the sort of soft do gooder that's bringing the country down.
Prison are a bad place for crims, utter bo**ocks mate, and thats from a prison guard.
Three square meals a day, play stations, wide screen TV's, phones and drugs.
They come out and commit again because they miss their mates and it's a good old crack inside.
Bring back hanging !!

given that we have a select few allready who are known & well into there life terms, then we could start there and free up some valuable space.
