We (insurance staff) log details of every claim made, including the age of the driver. Therefore we can say without any doubt that young drivers are involved in proportionately more accidents (and more serious ones for that matter). Insurers are commercial organisations in a competitive market - if the rates being charged were beyond the level of risk, some insurer would come along and plug the gap and insure 18 yr olds at the same price as 30 yr olds !!

all of us have said the same thing.. too young, the temptation to beat all your mates in their little saxos, corsas will be too much, Imprezas are very powerfull cars and very expensive, at 18 a 1.4 will be enough, but its your life, we all make mistakes!

heres the differenance i had a good job and still have so could afford it, he wont be able to/unless he gets help should i add
