What do you scooby boys think of the New RS

Quite like the car and has to be a bonus for performance car enthusiasts. The Focus will be one of the few cars around to heavily follow the motorsport theme of the rally car and will feature many of the sponsors components - like Brembo brakes, sparco seats, OZ wheels, etc, etc........ The power-to-weight ratio will put in on par with most of the competition and should be a fine road car and an excellent dry race track car. I think it won't loose out too much to anything else unless the road is very greasy and bumpy - a limited diff will see to this. I think the price is around the low £20k's which is good value considering the quality of some of the components used. Bring it on!

Have to say (coming out of the closet here as I only bought the Scoob while I was waiting for Henry to make the Focus Cosworth) - not bad, but waiting for the back wheels to be powered too!

According to Autocar (so probably a tad innacurate):
"200 bhp plus"
Definately Front wheel drive
20 bhp per ton MORE than the current Impreza
RS Cosworth 12 months away - 4wd and up to 300 bhp.
Anyway, I like it and it would be simple to put a wing on the back like the WRC.

Come on lads (&lasses!) lets be serious. Performance Fords have always had in general, good drivability and appealing looks.
Unfortunately, the chemistry Ford use is not that of the impreza's, yes thay use quality brand names such as OZ, Brembo etc, but in all seriousness they are never quite there. I have personally owned many performance Fords over the years but always been dissapointed about something, creaky interior, poor brakes etc, etc, the list is endless.
The scoob however has the full package as far as road going vehicles go for not alot of dollars! When Henry comes up with a completely satisfying road going package, I'll defect. That will probably be at the same time as when super unleaded becomes 2p a litre!

I think it looks great. I'm in the market for a new car pretty soon and I am struggling to come to terms with the new Impreza look.
I've seen the new Scoob in the flesh and it really is truly an ugly car IMHO.
If it was 4WD then I'd probably be seriously tempted. Any idea on price or have I missed that in the above posts!!

The focus has grown on me,
Its still a ford and likley to do the same way as the cossie in terms of image.
Ford killed of the XR tag becuase of this and RS and Coswort are just the same. Which is a shame because the Cars are fine.
I think scoobies will do the same way.
Sorry.

ive got a cossy but id rather buy a scoob as as new car rather than a fwd focus. Dont know why ford bothered, why not jump in with the 300bhp 4x4 version and stop messing with fwd (which no one wants!!)

Latest news from here inside the blue oval....
only 2wd and not till 2004, (what the **** are Fords playing at???????????) will be a bloody good engine though if they stick with the modded Zetec-SE (its made by yamaha so can take the revs).

Well, I like the look of it, generaly the design is light years ahead of the 'old' impreza. Especially if you consider interior fitments etc.
However the spec is todays version of the escort Turbo, thats right the one you see on every street corner, THIS IS NO COSWORTH, and is therefore not in the same league as the impreza for perfomance.
I used to own a VR6 and the grip on a front wheel drive car with 185 BHP is pathetic, even with LSD an electronics a 220BHP Focus will be left standing at the lights by a standard scoob.
As for a Cosworth Focus, well thats a different story.
As I understand it Ford own the Cosworth name, but Audi own the engineering company, can anyone confirm this? Is that why the Focus is a turbo Zetec?
