Seems like a fairly reasonable and practicle choice to me.

As for A.B. - Fair play, if you got it you might as well spend it (and I quite like them too!)

Used toe-rag V10 diesel would be a better choice and a significant saving.

A very high spec 2002 S8 which is about to be sold on for more or less exactly what I paid for it.

It was great at it's job of driving me across Europe for work in extreme comfort. Now I'm changing offices the car is going.

Maybe I'll start a thread on here where people can give me advice on what to spend my bonus on?

It's not about the money although only an idiot likes throwing money down the toilet. Merely that a V10 Touareg will make a better car for their needs, IMO. It doesn't have to be used either if they enjoy throwing money away in depreciation.

Or are they disgusting badge snobs?

PMSL

I can assure you the old boy doesnt like throwing money down the toilet, far from it (my mum on the other hand... ). At the end of the day, they've got the money, they've worked hard for it so why shouldnt they buy (arguably) the finer things?
Or are you one of these
"Oh yeah I can afford it (*cough - b*****ks) but I dont buy it because Im far too concerned that people will think - OOO look at him/her spending their money on expensive things".
At the end of the you cant take it with you.
And buying a car isnt an investment is it.

why do range rover sport drivers think they can go offroading, when you would be better off in a normal 4wd car.

The RR sport is low as ****, with 20 inch rims and low pros. You aint going offroad sunshine.

Tut tut Rabi..erm Torpid. Don't you know that ***** waving about how much you earn is even MORE crass than buying a Rangie Sport?

Good man Arron for buying what the f*ck he wants and not giving a toss about anyone who says otherwise.

Right, so... because there are other vehicles out there they should buy those over a RR Sport why?? At the end of the day, they use the current range rover as intended (yeah its got cream leather thats now ingrained with muck, stinks of cows/horses/dead animals and wet dogs etc), now if they like the marque (for whatever reason) then thats their choice, they've always had RR's and Landies so whats the problem? FFS

I for one am 31 (so I hopefully dont fall under the poor delisional old men heading), I have my own business - but I dont own a Lambo or a RR etc but if in 5/10 years time I can afford to spend my hard earned on a flash motor I feckin will do and screw everyone that thinks I should get something that blends in with the rest of boring eurocrap. As for my folks, they've worked hard all their lives (currently 7 days a week) and now want to enjoy the fruits of their labour... so grow up and less of the green eye'd monster - its always the same on here!

Arron, apologies for crappin on yer thread mate. I've said my bit and thats that. So enjoy your new motor when you get it

Jeff

When I said "BORING EUROCRAP" that does OBVIOUSLY not include things like Lambos, Porsches etc etc

To put it in perspect lets use the this as an example - someone is considering getting a supercharged RR sport then someone suggests an Audi a6 as an alternative... PMSL Thats the kind of thing I was referring to. IE: not quite in the same league (and dont bother with the RS6 argument - they're just as ostentatious in reality)

I notice by the way, you couldnt actually answer my question (or just chose to ignore it because you know its right) and chose to pick on something so obvious its sad.. read the first paragraph again and come back when you've got something constructive to say instead of trying to be absusive!

Even though a A6 for the same money as the RR sport would **** all over it, whilst having a better interior, being more capable off road and more reliable - your cracked up.

You need to re-write that sentence your reffering to if you want my reply.

I dont think I do and as if I really want to hear your drivel about Audi's

And you're right I am cracked up... at your pi55 poor responses wittering on about the greatness of Audi's. If you do go back over it, you'll see the point Im making is about choices - personal choices not anything to do with buying car a over car b

murdering someone or being a paedophile is also a personal choice but that doesnt make it right or correct.

An A6 - better off road than a Range Rover Sport ? - you're kidding right the RRS has the same chassis as the Discovery3 & that is AWESOME off road - interior is hugely subjective - have you seen inside the top of the range RRS? - and reliability... is yet to be seen

Man how fcukin stupid are you SUV drivers. I dont give a toss how good the chassis is as with the 20 inch low profiles, and low ground clearance sports suspension the RR sport will be ****e offroad and if you think otherwise you really are a ****.

Haven't mentioned once what I earn. Merely replied to the accusation that I'm jealous somehow. Furthermore I don't regard realisable assets in excess of 60K as being 'a lot'.

If this thread was 'just spent 60K on a 997' you wouldn't have seen a single negative comment from me because I believe they are an excellent choice in the sector. My comments are based on the fact that this individual has just been a bought a car with a crass image and he could have done better. Just my opinion which as I've already said he probably doesn't give a toss about.

Yeah you have - you said you usually spend 2 months salary on a car, and then told me you had bought an S8 - not hard to figure out what your salary is, no doubt precisely what your intention was. Keep it to yourself, no one really wants to know about how much / little money you have. And by the way it's really quite arrogant to say that you don't regard 60k as being a lot. I mean why mention it? Why say that? Are you just trying to wind people up? You know I spend a lot of time on a Ferrari website and it's really incredible how different it is to here, don't get any of this boasting stuff, I wonder why......!
