What a load of sh*t, you clearly know your car has around 400bhp & stripped out and you try it on with a P1, which was prob standard or only lightly modified then claim your unimpressed and they're not quick. Try a standard RS against a standard P1 then you'll get a real perspective of how quick they are. As for your car, i agree a very nice car in lovey condition but if you come up against a similarly modified and stripped P1 which could anything upto 700bhp and i think you will get blown into the weeds. Just be careful now you've just made yourself the target for every big horsepower scooby!
thats why i built the car.. to be able to race cars like this. ive never personally seen a 700bhp scooby on the road.

Jesus pal your spelling is nearly as bad as your car... Did you go to school? Or are you just thick? Perhaps if you had spent more time listening to the teacher, instead of daydreaming about chaving up your ford you may have learned to use this great language of ours a little better than you do? Did you honestly believe you could come on here with your trolling comments and get away with it? Sorry pal not while I'm here you won't, now go away whilst the adults are talking.

That's the point you don't know what you might be up against. How do you know from looking at it how much power it might be running?
Have a look on P1woc or the MLR forums and there are now some very powerful Scooby's and Evo's etc running around that don't look anything different to standard but are stupidly quick.
How's your car gonna fair at the first bend or in the wet?

Spend £15K on a P1 and you'll end up with a lot more than 360bhp!
Now that would kick your little escorts back side!
As some people have already said, you came on here slagging of the P1 in standard form, because it wasn't as fast as your £15K escort.
What the hell did you expect?
Sounds like you have inferiority complex, and are using your escort to let people know how big your ***** is!
Do you ever see modified scooby owners posting on RS forums saying how slow the standard escort rs is?? NO!

I dont agree...

If I had a series one it would be sitting in bubble wrap in my garage increasing in value. I could get hold of any MKIII shell for peanuts for a project!

And why would anyone spray a white series one black? Anyone who knows anything about series ones is going to ask you if it is genuine, and you are going to say.....errr no! IMHO it makes you look stupid......

Again, I just dont see it.....its like taking a concours 22B painting it pink and putting a Type-25 engine in it. Might go very well, but you have lost all respect for the limited edition it once was.

Dont get me wrong, good luck, and I hope it all holds together, because in my experience with big BHP series ones it doesnt last long....

....no mention of suspension, brakes or tyres either?

Take a browse through this:

While I'm here, I'd like to see you up against the P1 on damp tarmac.

So you intentionally built a 360 bhp car to race 280 bhp cars? Then wonder why the 280 bhp cars are slower.

If your car is obviously so heavily modified why are you surprised you outrun a P1 which could well have been std? Are you expecting people to be impressed? Its pretty easy to make a car go fast in a straight line - although why someone would bother making an escort such as yours go fast in a straight line is beyond me. Must be an Essex thing. Happy motoring.

I'll go through it slowly with you mate.

1. All sentences start with a capital letter.
2. Whenever you refer to yourself as "i" again it should be a capital "I"
3. Highlight only has one "t" in it!
4.You must be running out of things to say as your replies are getting shorter!
5. Nobody is actually looking, or is bothered at what you write!
6. Isn't it your bed time yet?

Honestly, what response did you expect? You are basically saying that standard P1's are disappointing, compared with a HIGHLY MODIFIED Ford Escort. I think you're in the minority there mate!
Again, what response did you expect.... on a s&dding Subaru forum!

hello all

PassionFord.com :: View topic - think i've upset the scooby crew

that may sum up what we think has been going on here

not that we think some of you are bending the original posters words a bit to suit your own needs as reasons to slag him off, it eads that he's got a car that has beaten a p1 and wants to know "in the real world" what it's capable of doing
he doens't seem to have mentioned the fact that it was in a straight line, round a corner, on a motorway slip road, etc so some of you seem to be jumping to the comclusion that it's "only a painted s1 rst so it can't be quick, can it"

then again, you can miss the point and go on about speeling etc, but i'm sure some of you are grown up enough to actually post a subjective reply based on what the op has asked (and osme of you already have )

one more thing, there are plenty of fast cars out there for you to race against, all you need to do is to be able to afford to buy, insure and fuel them so if someone gets spanked by an areil atom i'm sure they'll be the first to post on here about their "victory" eh

it happens on all forums, both posting that they have beaten one of the cars covered and forums that hold their members cars in such nigh estem that they can no envisage that there are quicker cars out there

i'm just waiting on a veyron owner to post that he spanked an f1 in his motor

Exactly. I know what car i'd still rather have. Still, respect for the amount of work that has obviously gone into the build.

I think if he had turned up on this forum with something a little more like this he would have got a bit more respect:

RS Ford, RS cars including Cosworths, RS Turbos, Artwork and much more

....and as I'm feeling nostalgic, a genuine big bhp series 1

Good to see that Subaru owners have the same extraordinary over-inflated self opinion as everybody else then......

Jesus - what is it with forum members that they refuse to see good in anything that is not what they have? The Passionford site is just the same. In the real world, there are cars that will remind both that the cars you drive are simply cheap saloon cars with money spent on them to make them almost as good as genuine sports/ race cars.

Agree with the second part though - far better cars than subarus to worry about beating

Its all gone **** up hasnt it. Some of us have made ourselves look proper ***** on here. He came on here saying he had wasted a P1 and we couldnt handle that could we so we started to take the **** out of him and his car. Of course he couldnt beat a P1 with a standard 1.6 CVH engine so he fitted another taking the RS about as far away from standard as is possible. He dropped in a cosworth engine and even that is modified. We didnt believe an old escort could beat prodrives finest and we told him so in spades. It turns out that the lad can prove what his car can do so we had a go at his spelling for christ sake. We all know that whatever he does to his car that it is possible to modify any impreza to be quicker and better at going around bends. We should have retained our dignity and admitted that his cars performance is impressive but not to our tastes instead of slagging it off

Although it doesn't justify the continued attitude from some SNet members, we do have a problem here of trolls pitching up looking to upset people by saying they whooped some Impreza in thier rot box (and no, from my previous, I don't mean the Escort in question)

It happens on another forum I use. A while ago a lad claimed to have some street racing nova (I know, but still bear with me) with all manner of throttle bodied, 16 valve 'caged goodness. Only to be discovered that he'd taken someone elses car and was attempting to pass it off as his own.

Sadly this happens quite frequently on SNet so at first, being a new member and instantly slating one of the more iconic versions of the Impreza, your going to get abuse. (Because it is assumed you are giving abuse - in a form)

Well thats what I think anyway.

Perhaps he was a little misguided in the way he posted, but a simple answer to the question without the defensiveness may have been more mature.

I have been up against cars that have genuinely surprised me. And whilst I myself do not own, nor have any interest in the RST, it may have been more constructive to understand where the chap was coming from, rather than simply belittling him in a narrow minded way.

I also find claims such as the P1 being considered a supercar laughable, and does little for yourselves to be taken seriously!

I am sorry to be so defensive myself, but I have been watching scooby net for some time (mainly whilst I considered buying one myself), and have been a PF member for a very long time.

It is so tiresome to see people so negative about these sort of things.

If I myself had come across a car such as the one described, I might want to "know my enemy" prior to ripping the ****.

Well said - cant argue with that! Better to play to your cars strengths, rather than resort to idiotic insults!!!!
