In essence, yes. Also it is still debadged on the outside and less 'in your face' than an Sti in WR blue with gold wheels.
Wilb - I considered that side of things, especially relevant as my WR1 was the subject of one such thread, but in the end if you don't have what you want as a result the scumbags have won.
Colzo - no problem.
For those who PM'ed for a better view of the rear spoiler.
Kind regards,

Only ask as Subaru have a front spoiler listed, but no pics, just wondered if that was the baby.

Robin,
That is one lovely looking scoob. I too was in the sti/d quandry, but ended up with a black sti, partly because i had a MY04 WRX SL, which had leather/sunroof etc, and I fancied a different interior. I wasn't to keen on the standard look of the spec d, but what you've done is superb, and should have looked like that from the showroom, I reckon that would outsell the sti!!.
Steve.

BTW for those that are asking, I believe the general opinion is that the front lip is a S204 item. Though it now comes as standard on the JDM A-Line, Spec D and STi Limited.

I am pretty sure the Spec D doesn't come with a lip spoiler as standard, mine certainly didn't come with one.

The pictures you have posted are I think of an A Line?
In the UK the Spec D came with the same rear low level spoiler as a UK spec WRX so it is quite different to the one shown in the pictures you have posted.

Yep Robin's correct - the front of the standard UK Spec D is the same as Robins but without the black lower spoiler. IMHO the standard car looks abit "tippy toes" at the front, but Robins spoiler gives it a better look.
Subaru list one on the accessories page, which seems to be the same as the one gussy pointed me towards at Litchfields (Cheers Gussy )
Standard WRX rear spoiler as well. Unless there is an iniment 07 Spec D to be announced soon - there are 07 STi's listed on the Subaru site but only 06 STi Spec D

Pics I posted are of the STi Limited/A-line. I didnt know the Spec D got the WRX rear spolier. I think the lip spolier looks better than the STI or the WRX spolier.

Righty - got to the bottom of the front lip spoiler debate, after a visit to the dealer - its this one, listed on the subaru website under STi 03 onwards accessories, exterior -
STi Front Lip spoiler -
"This spoiler is supplied ready to fit to all Impreza WRX STI models 2003MY onwards, is finished in satin black and features the STI logo. This spoiler enhances the appearance of the WRX STI, in addition it increases the CLf (Lift coefficient /front) value and reduces the Cd value. This increases the straight-line high-speed stability and handling.
Part No.  ST960204S080
£ 395.00 (inc. VAT, exc. Fitting - unless otherwise stated above)"

Robin,
Car looks awesome. I was at the dealership yesterday trying to decide between a black STi and a Spec D like yours.
One question - do you think that a Spec D will depreciate more or less than an equivalent Sti???
Cheers.

I doubt a thief searching the streets would turn his nose up at any impreza no matter what colour it was. If they are clever enough to bypass cat 1 security, colour wont kid them into thinking the 4 door saloon parked on the drive with a small wing, small scoop black in colour isn't an Impreza sti or not.
Correct me if i'm wrong but i dont think Bubba's cars were STI's.
As for the chavy extras i suppose you are on about the gold wheels......
Or is it the big spoiler that a fair few WRX owners on here opt for.
Nik.

Actually both Nik. If any other car owner fitted them to a different car you would probably rip the pee out of them! Imaging a Saxo with a great big wing and gold alloys! It was a 'tongue in cheek' comment as I know lots of people do this mod. I just like the subtle look and can't see the point in doing it to a WRX. If you were after that look just buy an STI.
I still prefer the standard Spec-D.

As ever its each to their own
I speak as an STI WR Blue owner with the usual bits and bobs which i happen to think suits this particular make of car, agreed with point about Saxo's though.
