Glad you enjoyed the day guys and i'll keep you posted on other events coming up...
Re the rally, it was a interesting day for us it being the 1st time we had run this car on Gravel. Started off slow on the 1st couple of stages and then started to gain confidence and speed on the 3rd stage.
However, stage 4 was cancelled and so was stages 6 and 7. We were actually on the start line of stage 6 (2nd run through the stage you watched on) when they stopped the stage due to an accident. So all together we only got to do 4 out of 7 stages. I must admit this is the first time that I have seen so many incidents and delays on a rally.....
So how did we do????? Well we finished 44th overall and 9th in class. This is not a bad result considering it was the 1st event in this car and we were actually 46th after stage 3.... I believe I could have got us into the 30's if we had got the opportunity to have a go at the other 3 stages... Still we live to fight another day.
Thanks very much Mick for the pic...
If anybody didn't get enough action over the weekend, there is always the Malton rally which is on this coming weekend 5th November. Website is here Malton Motor Club The rally is based at pickering showground and uses the Cropton and Gale Rigg stages.
Further to that I can recommend a trip up to the Grizedale stages on 9th December (Possible run out??). This obvioulsy uses Grizedale forest between Lake Windermere and Coniston and the rally itself is based in Coniston. The event website for this is Coppermines Grizedale Stages Rally 2006 . I may well put an entry in for this one... (haven't decided yet)
