The new buyer of the car didn't take the plate though so he still has it on retention. He didn't pay anywhere near that sort of price (£44k) for the car so he said and it was also a fantastic example, the floor mats were still in the packaging in the boot!

OK, but what else could you get for £45k? I've never lOOked in that price bracket, because i will probably never have that sorted of money again for a car.
I did once, had a superb job! Then it came to the crunch. It was either 6m snowboarding in the alps or a brand new 22b. I took the snowboarding and never lOOked back.

Actually you can buy US treasury 20 year bonds right now, today, for real life US dollars and be guaranteed 5.03% for the next 20 years. This wont be compounded, but you will get the 5.03% at the end of every year to spend as you wish.
Just for reference base rates in the USA are 5.25%.
For another reference the lowest yeilds on these bonds over the last 13 years have been 4.13%, so even if you reinvest your 5.03% every year, I think its safe to assume you'll get at least 4.13% compounded. Not in kazakstan, but in the U S of A, though I'm sure there are some great rates in the land of borat.
