Well as the value of money roughly halves every 10 years in real terms it won't be a very good investment.

No wonder it's got low milage. Thing would struggle to see where he was going.

Try getting that sort of return at a bank!!
Well now you mention it 45k in the bank for 20 years at 5% interest is 45k *1.05^20 = 119k, so you'd be better off with your money in the bank. (assuming interest rate of 5%)

But for that money you can get a good low milage DB7, would rather have that myself.
Apparently a bloke who recently sold his 22B had 22 B as the number plate, The figure I heard for that plate was around £27,000 The new buyer of the car didn't take the plate though so he still has it on retention. He didn't pay anywhere near that sort of price (£44k) for the car so he said and it was also a fantastic example, the floor mats were still in the packaging in the boot!

perhaps that is the rate of interest the bank of kazakstan pays Borat but I doubt very much that you'll get 20 years of 5% compound interest on a deposit of £44k in UK or U S of A.

OK, but what else could you get for £45k? I've never lOOked in that price bracket, because i will probably never have that sorted of money again for a car.

I did once, had a superb job! Then it came to the crunch. It was either 6m snowboarding in the alps or a brand new 22b. I took the snowboarding and never lOOked back.

Probably a 993 turbo. Drive it for as much as you want and it won't lose any money.

yakshimash,

Actually you can buy US treasury 20 year bonds right now, today, for real life US dollars and be guaranteed 5.03% for the next 20 years. This wont be compounded, but you will get the 5.03% at the end of every year to spend as you wish.
Just for reference base rates in the USA are 5.25%.
For another reference the lowest yeilds on these bonds over the last 13 years have been 4.13%, so even if you reinvest your 5.03% every year, I think its safe to assume you'll get at least 4.13% compounded. Not in kazakstan, but in the U S of A, though I'm sure there are some great rates in the land of borat.

you would not be able to use it in twenty years man coz there'll be no oil left and it wont be the same with a fork truck battery and a dyson motor hooked up

Had my car in at Adams today. The 22B has been sold for the asking price to a guy that can't drive. It's gone back in to storage as an investment.

What an absolute shame
