It's certainly a different beast to previous Sti's! Don't agree with comments about the PPP'd WRX being much better than the std Sti tho. After testing a few and being in m8's cars, I'd still say the Sti has the overall edge.

To be honest ... when I had my WRX PPP (MY04) I defended it for all the reasons I could think of (good compromise etc etc). Now I have the Sti I will defend it for all the reasons I can think of .....
There is no doubt in my mind that the STi feels like a very different beast - it may not be 'better' than the WRX (since everyone has different criteria when selecting a car) .... but to me it has a MUCH BIGGER SMILE FACTOR !!

me 3 i ended off getting the new sti after driving 3 car, one standard one with ppp and none of them match the sti its just so much fun every time i take it out

I have a 06 STI that will have the PPP fitted at the 1000 mile serive.
What is replaced on the car and should I be given the parts that are replaced?
I also read in the PPP supplement that 18" wheels are recommended with the fitting of the PPP.

There's some info here http://www.prodrive.com/up/06MY%20STi%20PPP.pdf which tells you what you'll have fitted to the car. The bits that come off are yours to keep although they aren't always taken by the customer. Most don't want to take away a dirty exhaust in their new car though.....
We recommend fitting 18" wheels and tyres for various reasons, mainly as it calms the whole car down so you can use more of the performance, more of the time. With the std tyre there's tramlining and torque steer that just gets worse with more ponies pulling the front wheels

PPP fitted to my 06 WRX in April, have since done some 4000 miles and it has totally transformed the car... i wouldn't hesitate to recomend it. Together with the Prodrive springs and 18" PFF7s i think the car is as good a comprise between performance and daily driving Subaru can offer.
As a standard car i hated the MY06 coming from modded classics.

PS Mike, i didn't get back my orginial ecu... it is just the intercooler hose and exhaust bits i should get isn't it?

I went for the car with PPP and to be honnest i dont think i would buy a WRX that did not have it fitted.
