looking good Si,

Doesn't look like my mate is going to be able to do the handbrake shoes after all, so we'll have to look into getting them done in that place in Cardiff.

What is the distance between the 2 faces on your bracket? to get the caliper to line up with the centre of the disc. Did you make it the same as mine? Just wonder if mine will line up properly as i haven't tried them since the alterations.

It looks to be around 4mm, your best bet is to dry fit on this hub and match each bracket to a caliper I feel. We took the figures from yours but then worked a little more with them, doing it like this you need to customise a little as you go.

It may pay to try and find another pair of shoe's, I've got some on this hub here.... it may be easier to get them all done at the same time to save running down to Cardiff a few times. I'll ask Andy if he has anything around.

Great job Simon.
I've just bought Brembo 2 pots so deciding to go down the same route as you and Dean. You don't have a spare set of brackets made up by any chance?.

When applying the middle peddle you need confidence Gazz

I'm pleased to say we are getting closer now.... just the oversized shoes to arrange and then I can sort a fitting date out with Andy, early/middle Feb I think still.... we shall see. Deans not far off as well and Ian will be having his fronts fitted first with the rears following I believe.

Sit tight on that question

Andy has found this idea very interesting so he may well be offering this mod very soon himself... I'm calling in too see him tomorrow afternoon and I'll let you know what he say's.

Not going for the same as you have on the front then John ? I did spot the question

hopefully i will have my fronts fitted soon after i pick the set up on saturday, while id like to have them all done in one go my fronts need replacing out of necessity so they will go on and the rears will become a bit of a project. have spoken to Andy and as soon as he has seen how Si's goes together we are gonna see how much for a fitting"kit" will cost

Ian,

You'll notice a massive difference when you put them on. I had to relearn all of my braking points. As I kept coming up a good 100 yards short at roundabouts!!!!!

Also becareful in heavy rain, I have to dab mine a little to clear the water off when it's raining really hard. I think it's down to removing the dust guard.
Quite worrying the first time

Did you get them off Greg? Same place me, Si and Gazz got ours?

Also remember to get the bolts when you collect as they are a funny size or you'll be running around everywhere trying to find some

This must be something to do with have no dust guards, i fitted the bigger STI dust guards on mine and have had no problems like this.

Modified brake shoes will be ready on Thursday so we should be in a position to be able to fit these very soon on Si's car.

Still waiting for a couple of bits for mine (need to order my EDFC), but really need to get my new clutch fitted first so may be a slight delay on mine.

Fantastic

I'll give Andy a call tomorrow and see where he is and then see what we can organise. I'll have to get the cash to you at some point Dean, if we don't meet up soon I'll have to arrange something to get it to you.
I may get up to see Andy before fitting so I'll keep you posted.

Not long now

Right we are getting somewhere now, my fronts are fitted as the lad buying my 4 pots could wait no longer...

Loads of room

Hopefully now the rears will be done just after easter which will mean Andy will then be able to get things moving for everyone.
He has had a busy month but after easter he will be back to full speed and able to catch up with everything outstanding.
