I'd leave it until something else happens - if it does. It's not really something or nothing at the moment ( (C) V Pollard )
On a similar note, on a similar estate in Northampton....i was at a friends house there last night and some kids threw something at the house and pelted the drive with eggs after he'd told them to eff off earlier (mardy git!). Anyway, his missus was also there and is a big 'ol scaredy puss at the best of times (won't watch horror films at all etc and i'd brought Saw 3 round to watch) so he decides to tell her that it was probably the ghosts of the tourtured souls from the old lunatic asylum that is practically next door that were coming out to play on all hallows eve She got in a strop and went round her mates......we got on the beers and watched Saw 3 - Result

All I would do is sell up and move out if vandals are causing a problem. Theres little you can do to be honest - you'll only end up in trouble yourself (thats Labours Britian for you )

I picked the hide and catch them option - but ONLY if this is a recurring problem....
Reporting it to the police will probably only result in one or two extra 10second drive pasts at your "peak trouble times"...
CCTV is expensive, noticeable and very breakable.
Talking is a good option if you look scary and serious and use threats.
Another option if you are big and scary is do what another of my friends has done and pop round to the parents of the kids and advise them that the only law you know is "an eye for an eye"...
When I lived at my parents and my car was being singled out at weekends up one of the drives (phnar phnar), or when out on the street, me and two mates got tooled up and waited in the car two Sat nights on the bounce from 11pm - 3am seats leaning right back (almost lying down, very cosy ) and waited...
Needless to say nothing happened but had they have "happened upon the car" they would have got one hell uva beating
I once caught someone breaking into one of my cars. I spotted them from a bedroom window trying to jemmy the door. I asked them to wait where they were, then woke my old man to even the numbers. We grabbed some "sticks" and ran outside, but they had long gone We drove around for an hour on the off chance to give them a thrashing too.

Anyway, as we got to know our neighbours a bit better they divulged to us that the previous owner suffered a bit of mindless vandalism. Stones thrown at the cladding tiles, that sort of thing.
Anyway, apart from a few kids ringing the door bell and running away we have had no problems what so ever. Last night, however, quite late after all the Halloween celebrations calmed down, something hit the front of the house.
I immediately went outside to investigate, no one to be see at all. Thought nothing of it. However, this morning in the daylight I found rocks on the front lawn. Nothing there earlier, as I had mowed it.
Either it was spoilt b*****d kids that didnt get enough sweets or it is the old problem kicking off again.
Sorry for the long post but how would you guys go about sorting this problem.
Just thought I should add, that I am new to the area and have had no unpleasantness with anyone whatso ever....so I don't think I have upset anyone. Hence thinking it the old problem starting again.
Never had this sort of trouble before so would appreciate any advise.

if your estate is full of middle management you should get theses kids together and have ameeting and "touch base" with them, adopt a "five year plan" and ask them "where they see them self in five years" follow that up with an email the next day and ask people for the views
