Well at least they had the good manners to nick it in the old-fashioned way instead of entering my house and demanding the keys with menaces. Now that WOULD have been traumatic.
Thanks for all the kind wishes, everybody.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your drill.
I say this since it seems you've already come to terms with the loss of the car
I hope you've enough personel belongings cover to replace the drill (and you've got the receipt).

I was sorry to read this Bob. I know that you loved that drill..... If I were you Id look for a New Age 'Wagon as a replacement. I love Classics; but later cars are better.....

something that will either cheer you up or depress you further
'Oh Makita you will never know anything about my home
Ill never know how good it feels to hold you
Makita I need you so
Oh Makita is the other side of any given line in time
Counting ten tin soldiers in a row
Oh no, Makita youll never know'

I agree, the Classic is a far prettier car. On the plus side though, New Age cars are better built with way better interior trim and greatly improved NVH. Perhaps of more importance though is their far greater reliability. Evn if you bought a 'mint' 51 registered (in Mica Red; IM had a car park full of them left over) Classic 'Wagon then you cant be sure that it will last; with a New Age car reliability is far less of an issue.
f you have contents away from home cover on your home insurance then the drill should be covered.....

Noise, Vibration & Harshness.
It'll be 51-registered in Mica Red then. You can get one of the second (over-priced) production of P1s on a 51 registration too.....

Classiscs or nothing for me, including a type 25 or spec c, and I do have the money.

just tagging onto the end of this thread...what with one of our sox crew having her scoob nicked over the last few days, it is just becoming too common....I know its not the time or place, but never seen your scoob in the flesh until now and I like the standard look
hope it all gets sorted one way or another, one way is the thieving gits come of badly, the other way is your insurance pay out in full and you get another one even better than the first..sorry cant offer anymore than that
