What do you do to protect your scooby from thieving scum

If a theif really wants "Your" Car he will have it. Most systems really catch the opportunist and numpties and not Pro's. When my car is Parked other than at home a vital component is removed
Most Pro's now what Sytems available and know how to overcome it. I was told one recovered Subaru because it had 2 GPS systems, scum found the one but not the other, assumed they were safe.
Apparantly they had a spare Car ECU and Fobs also found in the car, Clifford and Sigma ECU's setup in Valet mode, loads of blocks colour coded and marked up for other alarms models. A GSM blocker Tri-band signal blocker.
You'd be suprised how easy for someone in "the know" to overcome these devices. As with all Security "Add-ons" the Technology is Great but once found easily sorted. IMHO the more mechanical based units like Dipol lock, dealock and Disklock etc. are BVFM. but remember car is still "safer" with than without.

apart form that, the only other thing I have apart from the FF immobiliser is a multilock... fastens around the gear lever.
I guess at the end of the day it depends on the area you live in.

Another vote for the Barrier Deadlock. First thing I had fitted to my car, about £250.

Best thing is it's so easy to use, so you always do. It takes 2 secs to lock (just push plunger on side of transmission tunnel) and 5 secs to unlock. I can do it with my eyes closed

Dipol/Multi/Barrier lock in North East
Does anyone know where there are any installers of any of the above locks in the North East - preferably the Stockton/Middlesbrough area?
Living in Teesside with a Scooby can be worrying on occasions - for example I'm taking my kids to a firework show tonight and I'm starting to worry about the safety of my scoob parked on public streets.
So if anyone knows where I can buy and have installed one of those locks I'd be very grateful - I already have a Disclock with the normal manufacturers immobiliser and alarm.

Back in the day there was NO connectors on the good CAT1 systems and ALL the wires were black so could not be identified (such as the TOAD Ai600 - the later Ai606 unfortunately does have connectors and has colour coded wires ). Put simply, an installer did not need to take as much concern in installation, as lots of probing and splicing would be needed to find the correct wires and get past it (unless a feejot installer wired straight off the steering column ).
Nowaday, location of the main unit along with integrating the wriing so it is part of the orginal wiring loom is crucial. And unfortunately, from old habits, location restrictions, corner cutting and time saving. This is not always done satisfactoriaily.
My car was a prime example....the alarm unit was just wedged behind the glove box. Despite it being a CAT1 installation.
A good security measure makde metal plates rivited around the connector of the main engine ECU and immobilser unit, so it cannot be disconnected. Some car manufacturers are now adopting this method on their OEM immobilisers, so you actually need to drill off the protective plate before being able to swap ECUs
And before anyone starts. If your experienced car a thief - you already know this - so I'm not divulging anything new, trust me
