At the risk of repeating myself, exactly how much difference is our little Country going to make to the planet apart from emptying our pockets a bit more

Very little unless China, USA and India do their bit too. Our contribution is akin to the little Dutch boy trying to stem the leak with his finger!

The inaction of others does not absolve us of our duty and responsibility though Lesley.

I agree, I do as much as I can. But I don't see why I should pay any more to do it

That's a valid point. Taxation is not the answer. Call me cynical but the Government will have to make up the shortfall from the loss from smokers, when the smoking ban comes into effect. They are possibly making provision now.

Bicycle, Holiday in the UK (take a train perhaps?), with carbon neutral source i.e. biomass.

Its easy really - a combination of behavioural change and technology.

How many of you commute for more than an hour each day?

Do you enjoy it?

Would you rather live somewhere where you could walk or cycle to work?

Do you all really believe what is in the Stern Report? That climate change is out of control and will result in Chaos? READ THE SCIENCE! They are pulling the wool over your eyes with lies and bad science.

If this was an honest bout of taxation to convert us to greener practices for the good of the world, they would reduce other taxation to make up for the increased take on green taxes.

Milibrand would not say that is what they will do when being questioned on the TV. He continually ducked the question!

What else can we believe then?

Well just witnessed a spectacular display of fireworks and a massive bonfire which will probably burn for several days more. I'm sure there are hundreds if not thousands more similar displays all over the UK and with it all that carbon dioxide being released into the atmoshpere. Why does the Government allow it if this contributes to the "tipping over the edge of irriversible catastrophic climate change"? They make no attempt to ban it and they sure as hell can't tax it! Ironically this day is to mark the attempt to blow up parliament.
