I've stepped in to stop a woman getting hit. Didn't hurt anyone, just used intimidation.
A mugging maybe, but anything else and you don't know the background or who's round the corner (i.e loads of the guys mates!!).
The guy getting a kicking could well deserve it....
Plus what if you wade in a do major damage?
