@msp... here is a similar one for you m8 that will save me a repost... https://www.scoobynet.com/insurance-...y-problem.html
@chocolate.... you seem to be a bit plaged with accidents through no fault of your own latelly
....something about a "living in a glass house" you told me wasnt it??
...oh...and what a very nice piece of advice you gave the chap to spend the money on some nice mods
how about advising him to put the money towards some proper insurance instead
...oh and by the way before you go calling me **** again... 2 &1/2 months worth of your insurance payments equals a bit more than my yearly for me(main driver) and the mrs including bonus protection
...hope your accident at work is going well

my names andy to start with. read my first post on this thread lol.
bsecondly they are imho the best wheels ever on a impreza, shame i couldnt find them in 18" format for my wrx which also had the 16"s on your car.
nice colour. do the right thing, sorn it and then sort everything out on her, modify her in stages and enjoy the car safely in the end after all the graft is done.

oh and looking through all my previous posts too.... bit freaky. i have no "beef" with you 003, banter is the aim of the game, so no hard feelings. my accidents have nothing to do with you, and lately, as in may this year... quite a long time ago to me. please start doing what s-net is for constructive help, banter etc. id appreciate it.
andy
p.s. over £2000 insurance is rather high isnt it

first time for everything
here goes
i agree 100% with PS Lewis on this
my first car was a 1979 V reg escort 1.3L
thought it was the dogs danglies till 1 day i smacked it up, repaired it, hit it again, repaired, then had a biggy, off the road for 6 months . . . bought a mini 1100cc for 10 months, drove that under a tipper lorry, escaped(just) , got escort back on the road, drove sensibly for 12 months, sold that for an XR2 , never hurt that , then got a rover 216 GTi, had this for 7 years, never had 1 bump, then a brand new 206 GiT
, hated that , sold it for the scoob, which i've owned for 4 years, had 1 minor shunt, not my fault....
i'm now 36, have driven lorries for 18 years, now own my own lorry for the last 4 years
since my 'silly' days , aged 20- . . i've not had 1 smack <touch wood> ooo-er
i do approx 100,000 miles a year.
YOU NEVER STOP LEARNING , don't think you do !! !! !! !!
but your best doing it in a 'normal' car.....

i would say getting a decent run arround for the first year or two and mod your scooby on the side or take it to the odd track day to keep you happy as well. i am 21 in may and intend to buy a terzo or turbo 2000, i could have done this when i was 18 like you, but i simply refuse to pay the price of a very decent car to insure one for a year.
i will admit that when i was 18 i thought i would be able to handly it due to having been brought up in a rally family and rallying my self. but looking back i think i would have pranged it to be honest, as this just makes you feel even more confident, but you CANNOT account for other road users and conditions like you can in competition.
what ever you do, have fun but dont get hurt!
