I'm looking forward to seeing the film. The old Bond movies for me were just comedy. I'm glad the new style is a lot darker, its a direction the Bond franchise needed to go to compete with the slicker Bourne / MI movies.
The names FIN......CRAIGFIN.

New film looks quality - cant wait to see it! The last few (since Goldeneye) have been cr@p IMO - they were just getting way too silly, invisible cars etc and completely over the top special effects.
Craig should be an excellent Bond too - a hard edge and much more sophisticated than any of the previous Bonds, bar Connery.

Very excited about this as a die hard Bond fan. Brosnan was too much of a ladyboy. Short, skinny and pouted at the camera like he'd just taken something up the Gary. He also was the one who pushed for MORE stunts and over the top special effects and they just made the films utter tosh.
I tend to avoid trailers because it spoils the film for me, but the few snippets I've caught seem to look great. Everybody has their own taste but for anyone who thinks Brosnan was a great Bond doesn't really know what Bond is meant to be about

I'll be interested to see what you folks think after seeing the film. It looks more action packed but I still don't like HIM

It's about entertaining men's fantasies, eg, driving dead fast, messing with gadgets, ******** foxy babes ( while HQ watch via sat-cam), and killing evil super criminals. Then swaggering back to the office to watch your secretary slide off her seat as you enter the room.
OK?

The trouble with the recent Bond and Bourne etc, is the product placement - I mean as if we are geeky enough to go and buy a new phone or change what drink we order cos Bond uses it.

I belive there is a scene in the new Casino Royale in which Bond takes on 5 baddies with a pair of GHD hair straighteners, then finishes one of them off with a non-doctor.
we'll see
we'll see

With women's point of view, not as slimey as Pierce with his forehead sex appeal

Sean was the best. End of.

Funny thread this, as it is an argument that always crops up in the pub. I personally think that Sean Connery was the best Bond, especially effective in Dr No because he was hard and did not have to deliver any tongue in cheek lines. However I grew up in the age of Roger Moore, my first movie I remember seeing was The Spy Who Loved me. Loved the Espirit and at that early age thought all cars would eventually be able to go under the water.
I think Pierce did a great job of 'keeping the British end up' and while he carried on the trend of delivering the old one-liner very well I think he did the action scenes very well, especially in GoldenEye. Agreed the gadgetry has overshadowed the film for the past 3 versions and now that dear old Des Llewellyn is no longer with us (God Bless Him and may he RIP) that should go back to being a bit-part and not the mainstay of the film.
FWIW I did not like Timothy Dalton one bit as Bond, borne out by the fact he only stuck around for a couple of films.
1 Q I do have is why do Ford push the Focus with references to Casino Royale? All the clips I have seen have him bombing around in an Aston!!
Can't wait to see it, was going to go to a charity preview last night but beer and footy called me instead. Judging by my head this morning and yet another lackustre performance by Spoddy McLaren's eejits I should have forked out the pony to go see what looks to be a cracking film! Hopefully tonight.... never say never eh?!

Saw the film last night and first thoughts were…. It’s not a 12A!
Really enjoyed the film, different from previous bond films, but sort of expected that with a new actor. The start is a little different, but a good change. Good twist near the end.
Not as many gadgets but you don’t get let down by the Aston!![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Defiantly worth seeing!
