See if you can get edcase's opinion on the benefits of M5 ownership over RS6 ownership. May be of some interest

Dont think it will understeer too bad, will let you know
When I say understeer I ment in relation to other fast 4WD cars on the limit. It's to do with the engine being more infront of the front wheels than say a BMW. It's not a good or bad thing, it just depends on what you prefer.

Anyway, I get the feeling you are buying four really nice wheels with nice car attached.

Just an update as requested, It was an eyeopener with the power delivery, way smoother than I expected almost linear with no real drop off at speeds I was happy with anyway.
No point in thrashing first but 2nd gear pulls like a train then 3rd barrels in with a sound unlike any previous car I have driven , more a whoosh than a roar its almost turbine like with a high pitched sound and not too much exhaust blare.
It was wet and dark so with only a limited experience to report I would say it is a fantastic compromise with the practicality of my wagon and the ability of the Cerbera(at least) and was still progressive and manageable in poor weather.
My expectations were high and I was not dissapointed, great seats, great driving position, nice wheel leather but grippy, fantastic brakes(well I had to try them), smooth but taught handling, Its abilities are far greater than mine so when (if) the weather improves and we have finished tinkering with it, it needs a little work I will post again my dry/daylight impressions.
