Driver no. 1 (Impreza) should have looked over his shoulder before crossing a white line.
Driver no. 2 (Clio) should not have been trying to overtake another car when joining a motorway. He should have completed the overtake on the slip-road or backed off.
Bikers need good spacial awareness and an awareness of their suroundings, but like car drivers, many lack both.

hmm did i misunderstand the original msg?
i thought the clio was already travelling on the motorway. if he was on the slip road with you then i can sympathise a little more as he would indeed have been driving like an ***

You lot just love slagging people off don't you - it's lucky none of you have ever done anything wrong in your lives
The guy made a mistake, he knew he should have looked over his shoulder but for whatever reason this time he didn't. Well hey, he's human just like the rest of us. He's admitted the mistake, there wasn't an accident (thankgod) and he won't be doing it again for a long time.
I don't think this calls for these kind of comments.
Ps To everyone who says Clio didn't know he was in his blindspot - If you can't see someones face in their mirrors you are in their blindspot - look I managed to say that without being offensive ********

Scrappydoo,
Just thought I'd chuck me twopenneth in..
Yup, we all make mistakes and even the best drivers out there do too (even if they don't want to admit it !).. as far as I can see you would certainly have been in the wrong if a bump had occurred, but hey, lets be thankfull that one didn't !
On the other hand, it really bugs me when drivers sit on your rear wing instead of either dropping back or overtaking... they should from their own experience realise that they could well be in your blind spot !! It boils down to a bit of the "fast lane or overtaking lane !?" argument !
Anyway,
You've realised you boobed and will be much more vigilant next time, what more can you ask !?!
Cheers,
John

who are you talking to Gary? Your post is more offensive than most on this thread.
Do you always drive around making sure you can see peoples' faces in their mirrors? or do you look at the road sometimes too?
;-)
