Jonathan,

"People obviously go to Ralliart to buy cars as its still there. "

of course... I was spekaing metaphorically. UK evo means zilch so most people get an import from elsewhere and save a small fortune. Of the people who do go to Ralliart to get their 30K 7 or 40K Extreme etc.., money is obviously not much of an issue so NONE of yours or my comments apply to them. Also, as I understand the UK sti is well down on power so it can't be in any sort of comparison especially given the fact that 7's with just a full exhaust are showing 310+.

"Just cant see why people would want to pay £4k for a car thats no better than the STI, unless they need electronics to help them drive "

Tell me, have you driven both cars, i.e. a 7 and a Jap STi ? Your argument suggest that these 2 cars are similar in some way ??? The only things they have in common is WRC, 4wd and supposed 280ps 2.0litre. Its like saying nobody would ever buy a Boxter when they can have a Honda S2000 for 28 grand ???

To add to Scooby555's post... the Prodrive Style is also supposed to include instrumentation with blue dials and red needles as well as the different bumper, fog light aperture covers, sills and rear wing.

The full 25th November Press release can be found on
http://www.iwoc.co.uk/my2002stiuk.html

The Japanese domestic market Prodrive Style also gets a rally style roof vent. There is also mention on the Japanese Subaru site (in the English press release/news section) that the Prodrive Style will be limited to 1000 units only outside of Japan.

Just had a look at http://www.subaru.com.au. In OZ the new STI is priced at AUD $55,130.00 which is GBP 20,235.15. The average wage is GBP 1174.39 per MONTH or 293.60 per WEEK in OZ. If you decide to look at the Aussie scoob site, click on impreza WRX, then on WRX STI.

Here in Greece dealers are saying GRD 18,000,000 which is GBP 32,891.088. and the average wage here per MONTH is GBP 420.26 or GBP 105.70 per WEEK. What a difference

Wrexy.

Errrrr....so lets get this right......People were pissed off because Subaru (UK) were selling cars at too high a price......so they reduce the prices with an agressive entry STI and now people are complaining its too cheap and what have they done to make it so cheap......errrr hello and smell the coffee here chaps......take a look at what I've just typed and think about it....sheesh some people are never happy are they.

As for moaning that a new model always come out after you have bought your car........hasn't this been happening for the last 100 years cars have been in existance....or should we still all be driving Model T Fords....just because it would **** off the last new purchasers if Ford bought out a new one???

SOME OF YOU NEED TO GET A LIFE - or a new scooby.....

All the above IMHO of course....ah the beauty of disclaimers

Well said Mr Hue.

I was expecting about GBP 30,000 but GBP26,000 for the STI (not sure I'd pay the extra for the spoilers) has really got me thinking.
