This is what cripple does with what little cash he earns rather than buying property.

what a lovely chav mobile, great 'not tacky at all' number plate

and the 'pièce de résistance' I like to call

'old ned car in scum street'

I think any advice cripple gives out regarding investment needs to be considered in the light of his obvious ignorance of the subject.

The words 'low' and 'rent' have never been more apt..........

Effort? Two right clicks and 30 seconds of typing hardly qualifies as effort although I can imagine you'd be straining at such an intellectually challenging task.

Playing the 'thread back on track' card is a little late considering the poor attempt at trolling you were doing before I came to slap you back down.

You contend that there will be a crash at 'some point', hardly the prediction of a financial genius is it?

Cripple the only market you know anything about is the place you go to buy your knock off kappa tracksuits.

I've played the property game and won.

I don't believe there is any money to be made in the UK property market currently. Which is why I've invested in the south of France and seen a 30% gain since I took my capital out of the UK in 2004.

He's a liar is the explanation Rhino. He lives at home with 'Dad' in the street with the white car in it and owns two clapped out old japanese cars one of which he's trying to sell because he can't afford to run it.

Hardly the demographic of a 'high paid city worker'. If he works anywhere in the city it's likely to be cleaning up in the back of 'Benjys'.

Explain why a 'high paid city worker' owns 2 old sheds like those pictured in this thread.

Or does that claim come from the same place as your contention that you're some kind of competition cage fighter?

He claims to be wealthy and a street wise, cagefighting super ninja.

Note cripple's classic mistake here- if you're going to lie at least make it tie up with the known facts.

Well, he assumes the house market is going to crash - If you held that belief, you would hardly be likely to enter the property market.

There are areas of the UK where you could have made the same return, and not had to pay the pretty extortionate approx. 7.5-10% in French legal fees/registration/taxes.

Plus, of course, you have a 33% capital gains tax on second home sales when you come to sell it under french law.

I'm not suggesting the situation in the UK is much better, but in terms of property investment, there is nothing to suggest you would be any better of in France , than you would the UK, especially given that demand is nowhere near the same....

Aside from the obvious benefit of having a place in the South of France to go and stay in

I agree there are places in the UK that have seen good returns since 2004. They were areas that I have no personal experience of and also I believe that some of the places that are still seeing large increases are some of the weakest in terms of stability.
The key benefit with the area of France that I've invested in is that the purchase prices are very low by UK standards. Moreover there's a very strong rental market with returns on capital being as high as 10% of the entire sum invested per year. Add to that growth in equity and I believe it's quit attractive.
Of course one very real disadvantage is that when you come to realise the profit a fair wedge will be lost in tax. However there are 'crafty' ways to minimise that burden.

Unless you go back and do some editing I think there's evidence to the contrary.

Explain why a 'high paid city worker' drives two knackered old japanese cars.

Indeed

My parents bought a property in Marbella for just under £100,000. It was a new build in 2003, completed in 2004. On the day of completion my folks were over there and an agent knocked on their door and offered them £150,000 there and then. If you get the right area, and let's face it, more and more and more people are buying property abroad, then there is money to be made.

I will do the same, just as soon as those money sponges known as kids bugger off.

It's not, your right. But, if you don't leave your kids enough cash to pay the inheritance tax bill, they'll have to sell the house to pay the tax bill.
Only if they are under 18 (I think) are they exempt.

Why not buy two jap cars?
Whats wrong with them?
If they're not your cup of tea then what are you doing on here.....
or does everyone have to go purchase an aston or a bmw or a land rover....
good comment

Yes, I have had comps in K-1 and in the Cage......your point being?
oh, that I won't post details on here because there are tools like you that would probably put that information to good use to chase me around even more?

Change the record......and you need to get a better hobby then following me around....touched as I am, I think others are finding this a little tedious....

Well cripple, I've worked in the city and never met anyone who'd be as crass to describe themselves as 'a high paid city trader' that would own 2 clapped out old japanese cars. Let alone be desperate to sell one of them because he can't afford it.

Moving on to your imaginary cage fighting career I similarly can't see any real life 'hardman' being in the slightest bit worried about revealing details of where his competitions have/are going to take place. So I'm throwing down the gauntlet for you to name them or admit you're a liar. Nobody could possibly do anything with those details that would make trouble for you.

For these reasons I'm quite confident that you're a liar and I think any reasonable person reading this has drawn the same conclusion.

You really are a fool.....
I used "high paid city worker" in quotes as it was mentioned by someone else....
You haven't met anyone else in the city who'd buy two jap cars?
clapped out being your opinion....that means there arn't any does it?
or are you thinking high paid city workers as in old men with pinstripe suits driving around bentleys or traders driving around in aston's?

I never claimed to be a hard man....you just picked on one of the many people on here that doesn't hide behind their screen....I bit so you tend to focus all your energy on me....

As for my details.....if you had my name there would probably be plenty YOU could do to annoy and the fact that you follow me around proves my point....you would do something......

end of the day there's nothing you can do but attempt to taunt on here......as you have nothing else better to do.....
I don't care what someone like you has to say.....I can log off and that will be the end of it.....

yawn yawn yawn......

Clear your pm also sweetheart....

sorry that this has ruined another good thread....

I came and looked at what I thought was an interesting thread and found cripple here threadcrapping it into oblivion with some poor quality trolling and lies.

I therefore felt it reasonable to challenge some of his assertions.

Glad you agree with me that he's getting a barracking. Unfortunatly cripple is possessed with great powers of self delusion and seems to have the false belief that he somehow does well out of these threads, rather than the sound drubbing he actually gets.........

Just waiting for him to post up some unbelievable guff to explain why he won't (can't) reveal details of his 'competition cage fighting' career.

On your own you can both be funny and informative, but when it comes to your "mine's bigger than yours" taunting it just a waste of your talents.

just my tuppenceworth.

for the sake of the thread, why dont you do as hes asked several times and discuss it via pm, or do it in muppets rather than spoiling this thread trying to make yourself look better and gain a point. what is the point your trying to make torpid.

i know who i agree with on this anyway. please dont talk to me anymore regards this, im not interested...

p.s. apologies for getting involved in something that is nothing to do with the original idea of this thread...

Romania is the place to buy at the moment...apparently.

A friend of mine bought a property there 3 months ago for £50,000. Hasn't done anything to it at all and was offered £85,000 two weeks ago.

He is keeping the property and planning on turning it into a hotel (haven't seen pictures, but is supposed to be a fairly big place)

The point is cripple is a liar.

As for 'knowing who you agree with' if you mean that there will be a house price correction then you're agreeing with my point of view. On the other hand if you mean you agree that cripple is a city high flier and death defying hardman competition cagefighter then I have a bridge for sale that you might like to buy.

More interesting are the comments made about Romania. After the fall of Comrade Ceausescu many people just 'inherited' property from the state.Combine these debt free property owners (many of whom would love nothing better than to sell and realise their capital) with the entry in to the EU and you have boomtime. There are a number of very desireable areas around the defunct palace and old town that have risen by as much as 500% in the space of a few years.
That said my own feeling about Romania is that it's far too risky in terms of sharp practice and fraud to consider investing there.
