Lets face it, it's the kind of thing a New Labour government would endorse. A scheme where people can be vindictive, underhand and report anyone they don't agree with. The underachievers and muppets willl gain Reputation and the intelligent people that tell the truth and have controversial opinions will be brushed underthe carpet.

Forming a viewpoint outside of mainstream thinking certainly requires a little bit of intelligence

Well you can have a forum that has arguments and interesting discussions with different viewpoints or one where everyone sits arounds sucking each others dicks - which is what the reputation system will do to this forum.

That's the option where you just ignore the poll and don't post on the thread

Like everything it has pluses and minuses. It is good to get a nice comment from someone but when it gives the opportunity for someone without identity to send a really unpleasant message which could well be unwarranted and also very upsetting, I think that is bad. I think if the identity of the sender was known then it would be a good thing.

I think negatives should not be anonymous, but positive ratings should have the option to remain anonymous.

This enables you to give positives without coming across as a crawly bumlick.

You have the option to sign feedback if you want to, I'd leave it at that. Next week we'll all have something different to moan about

Not since google ads has a new feature generated such lively debate.
