I have to admit - the negative reputation comments you can recieve do give you an interesting insight into the minds of certain individuals.

Well, because I presume I am one of the "50-plus club" to whom he is referring - he came into a muppet thread the other day to specifically voice his concerns and displeasure.

Actually I was going to have a poll as to whether I should close my account. I feel pretty much the same way as UB. While some of my views might be different or harsher than others I don't abuse people or become nasty (I will abuse back if someone starts) and the negative Reputation I have received has just been immature. And then we have people who post absolute tripe with 50+

I've given one negative to a person that called me a "****" in a thread and that's what you deserve bad Rep for.

To be honest it just another reason not to bother, I received negative feedback for a tongue in cheek comment and posting a helpful technical article, why I dont know, I am not going to resort to crowd pleasing tricks and appeasement to try and score a few points.

The feedback thing would work if it was fairly applied, as it is, its just another vehicle for trolls and idiots. Go on, give me some negative feedback and make my exit easier !!!!

Well no-one has owned up to calling me scum yet, but it's only to be expected. I strongly suspect it will have been one of the people who have been bleating about the whole system on here. Are they man enough to admit it? I very much doubt it.

Nobody is it seems. I had some hopes, but having been called a turd and a moron (how ironic that one was!) anonymously and in all caps I'm having some doubts.

Still, I'll _still_ console myself with the fact I'm not them and quickly get over .. oh, it washed over me anyway

I've been called worse, and with your good feedback why bother.

Kiwi,

yes you are an opinionated individual, like UB and like myself. We come from a different politic and have very different views of the world. We give at least as good as we get.

Do not for one minute, and Oncle Buc if he is paying attention in the ether, think that censorship of opinion is not rife for ALL of us who express ourselves freely from the heart. I have had a lot of negative reps by anonymous numpties who haven't even posted on the threads where we have been having interesting discussions.

The very best was the one calling me naiive (sic). Although it does not take a rocket scientist long with the search function to realise that there is only ONE person on Snet who spells naive with two 'i's, does it Suresh?

I firmly believe that after the hysteria dies down the system will work well. It really is interesting to find out what people really believe.

I have given out a couple of negative reps - for posting tripe out of context - real trolling. I certainly have not done it on any of the hotly debated threads where I have been involved.

Edited to add that the fact that someone else has 50+ is irrelevant. If you have something to say from your heart then why worry about how many points you have. Surely you would only worry about your score if you were just trolling. Life is a choice not a competition.

Chill, look after that lovely child of yours and have a fabulous evening.

Rannoch

Click on your User CP. Green is good, red is bad, grey means that the person who reputated you didn't have a good enough rating to affect your score.

I think if you have more than ten, you have enough spunk in your pods to make a little red or green baby.
