Seems like a bit of a crap system...............

So all the minnions with a 10 rating can't actually change any else's rating?

In this way the rep scheme is analogous to cocaine use. It just brings out the worst in people. We now have the rather unedifying spectacle of a small elite of rather stupid people who have become intoxicated by their newly awarded 'powers' swaggering about threatening to eliminate anyone who fails to show due deference toward them. The worst thing though is that the 'dealers' who supplied them with their fixes are the very people who are supposed to be responsible for even handed treatment of members and the maintainers of fair play within the community. This dereliction is IMO unforgivable, and I for one am both angered and disappointed to discover what is going on behind the tissue of deceit of even-handedness and fair play that the average user once believed to be the case

This discredited and patently unfair scheme should be abandoned with immediate effect, although of course it won't be. Or, the rep scores of ALL members should be reset and left to develop in the intended way, free from the gerrymandering and abuses which are all too rife currently. I predict this won't happen either, therefore I feel I am left with no choice but to quit this once enjoyable community that the introduction of a flawed, and freely abused system, has in one stroke and for ever more, ruined.

Christ, that's a bit over the top...
It's only a few green blobs FFS
If you were really going to leave then you would have just gone.. not signed out "in blaze of glory"
I've been red repp'd for a few odd reasons, but I'm not going to get wound up about it.
Once the "newness" wears off the system it will settle out I'm sure. and the majority will undoubtedly rule.
If you are here for the long term anyway..
To think it's all a conspiracy having mods give certain individuals lots of good rep... LOL
Anyway, probably said enough to get a load of bad rep myself now but hey ho, life goes on...

Nothing has really changed has it???

lets put it this way....

if you woke up one morning and you only had one green blob and a rating of 2+, would you really give a flying **** about it ?? would it stop you going to work and doing what you normally do on a day?

I dont think so....

Personally, If i had 1 or 5 blobs, it wouldnt make a toss of difference, I would still post enough crap to make a spammer blush with envy

What? You mean this site isn't real life?

I wouldn't have even noticed the blob had this thread not been up and running.

There are plenty of people on 'ten' that can give coloured blobs. The correlation I have made (based on assuming signatures are true) is that reputating kicks in at around 1,000 post count.

I know someone in a post with 900+ said they would reputate me and they signed a comment - it was grey. They were 10+ as it had just started.

Just my tuppence worth.

Someone who ditches their ID when their post-count gets too big to maintain credibility?

hence my point - a big post count is like an Audi TT at a Scoob gathering...........the owner thinks he's cool - everyone else thinks he's a ****.

now theres a system in place where fellow ***** can rate how cool their **** mate is while the others look on in puzzlement....i simply dont understand the point?

i never quite figured out why the IGNORE function was just suggested more offten if its about spotting people that arent liked....if not that then why? whats the point?

Rhino, I'm me, this is my account. I just post. I accept that I will get comments about the size of the post-count, and that I appear to have no life outside scoobynet. They make me smile when I'm out grafting my bollocks off in the cold for eight hours a day, or out playing with my band, or having fun with my son, or socializing, or eating out.

Why ditch it, unless I care what other people think of me?

I'd go one step further than that and suggest that anyone with more disreputable points than 'About Average (10+)' should be actively targetted as the **** that they are.

I will be implementing this ill thought out strategy with no prior warning or consultation, so it should fit the Scoobynet ethos to a tee.
