Warranders in Bolton have an EVO Zero Fighter sat in their showroom priced at £33,000 bargain as I think they were £42,000 or so when they were realeased the few "official" ones that came over here were renamed extreme.
PS it hasn't got the rising sun on the door though!!!!!!

I still think we havent answered the blokes question.
about the softer suspension, I can see his point, if you are after maximum performance. the astra is set up to be very stiff, which is fine when you are powering round a corner but a real hassle when you are negotiating some dolphin huggers prized speed bumps. the cossie is set up softer so if i want to drift it the slide is more progressive rather than an sudden snap with no warning. the other thing about the exhausts this is simply because anybody with a fast/loud car is pulled over by the police and told to fix it in order to please the aforementioned dolphin huggers.if this guy is reading this maybe he could repost telling us if the police give jap boy racers a hard time.

Racing is best left to the track. You have to somewhat stupid to drive at those kind of speeds on the road, and I wouldn't like to meet one of you drifters coming the other way!
I'm british and live in Hong Kong (which is much like japan in terms of silly motors) and can see what he is talking about.
It is a culture thing - they are more willing to risk their lives and the lives of others. And yes the police here do nothing but gorp when a wrx/evo/skyline/supra storms past them with a N1 exhaust.
Cheers Mark
STI6 typer - soon with scoobysport exhaust
PS. I have 2 exhausts lying around in the spare room if anyones interested, oh yea and a set of tien HR's :-)

Yup, I'm pretty sure they do.
1. Tanabe G-Power medalian - looks great and very quiet inside.
2. SARD striaght through - also looks great, not too big but very loud once the valve opens (simular design to ferrari :P )
Used the Tanabe one for about a year - SARD only used to a few weeks because I'm selling the old car.
The Tanabe would be suitable for your car I think...

Mark,
What diameter is the tanabe exhaust? I don't want anything too boy-racer. Did you lose much low end with it?
I know what you mean about cars here in HK and I would like to be discrete. I got a ticket today because I had tinted windows! My car was bog standard except that!! The police here are pretty useless, double standards...they ignore the civics and lancers which have been modified like hell doing 100 at 120dB with their group N exhausts and give me grief just because I have tinted windows!
Anyway, assuming the tanabe fits....how much?

Hi,
here a picture :
I think HK$1500 sounds about right, we payed almost HK$5000 for it a year ago. It doesn't look boy racer at all since it's more oval than round (about 4" i think) and fits the car very well. Seen many lagacys with this one on.
Sorry to hear about your ticket, my new car comes with tinting as standard! Another friend got pulled over the other week but he managed to talk his way out of it. (he does know cantonese though)

So that's where we've been going wrong!
I really must apologise for our conservative European styling.
Perhaps our road version of the WRC Impreza wasn't agressive enough. Or perhaps it was, hence STi turning the idea into the 22B.
Perhaps the P1 was too restrained. Maybe that's why so many people think it's the best looking Impreza so far. Sorry about that. Perhaps we ought to look at increasing drag and lift next time instead of reducing it with our spoilers.
I'm sorry that our 90mm exhaust isn't big enough (or loud enough maybe)
I'm also sorry that our suspension kits improve the ride on Japanese spec cars whilst giving better handling. Should we make the ride so unbearable you can only stand it for limited periods?
We obviously must try much harder!!!!!!
It is nice to see that you appreciate that we may have had an effect on the appeal of the Impreza by winning the World Rally Championship several times.
Yours terribly humbly

Hello all
The police sometimes tough to driver. In the city car is took away and ground of old place of car is decorated with the police chalk and warn of penalty to car return but this adheres to all of driver. If sports car or sedan. We can travel at high speed in night only to escape busy motorist and trucks of day. In night the road of high toll as ¥3000. There exists in Kyoto the Night speed assocciation where cars race upto 300 km/h there is large moneys at risk for illegal contest. Police is unhidden and unheard at this times. But if the time police is at location police have to be atracted away by a plan of 1 or 2 car. Police drive Skyline Supra and are often tune up to enemy for the illegal high speed contestants. Police are strong against car broking in busy road and stop is caused to the all of cars when police are alowing to roll awat car and lockup. Also drift side turn assocciation take place in upper mountain regions of shrp turn and quite time of people at work at middle of week. police is unheard here either. police are tamed to the tune up car even to the racing sport hard tune but as all way the can be hard at the time.

Valid point there Mike, if Japanese tuning are so great why is it that both Subaru and (shush) Mitsubishi have their rally cars designed and built in the UK?
You guys in the trade must be doing something right.
I'm sure a lot of the Japanese aftermarket stuff is good, but it all seems a bit extreme, with little regard for useability. When tuning they seem to like big power figures at the expense of torque, so real world driving would be a pain.

Most of the Japanese street racing is done on their equivalent of motorways, so high power is desirable over high torque because top speed is all that's important. It doesn't matter if it takes them half an hour to get there!! High power is also easier to brag about.
Same with the silly ultra-low suspension, they stick to very flat roads.
You only have to play an arcade game like Scud racing to understand how most Japanese drivers think cars should behave.
As for spoiling the Impreza, I'm afraid that title belongs to the in-house Subaru design department....
(I can't believe I even responded to this troll! )
