I`ve got an Evo 6. I`ve previously owned 2 classic imprezas and 2 bugeye Wrxs`s.
I wouldnt go back to a Subaru now to be quite honest, there`s not one in my budget i`d prefer over my current car.
Why do people keep banging on about AYC? How many people drive their Imprezas on the limit all the time? AYC will only come in to play when you have 4 wheels sliding, something that lots of owners wont probably ever experience. Hell, I cant even get this bastid sliding very easily, it just sticks to the road.
As for the great Impreza V Evo debates on who`s faster, thats down to individual drivers sometimes and how high they take their revs etc, how confident on twisties, what mods have been done, models base power etc etc etc.
As for bits falling off......... thats quite funny, Impreza bits dont actually technically fall off.....they get caught in the bottom end of the engine

No this is totally wrong. You need to read up about it.

Wow!! AYC will pull you tight around bends, transfer the power to non sliding wheels on slippery surfaces, bends etc at other times, so what? What im saying is the only time you`ll really feel the AYC is with all wheels sliding, as demonstrated by J.Clarkson on Top gear.
My Evo pulls the same around bends, or at the very least un-noticeably different, to all my Subaru`s.

Changed the ECU for a standard Z4 until I can afford a decent chip to put in the SB ECU and runs a whole lot better now.
As for the weight, same as any RA I guess...
