Webmaster , I have spoken to Ian this morning and read out what you have said , he says at no time was he offered any other advertising options , he seems to remember that it was about £150 + vat a month , and going up then , or had just gone up , he was never offered any cheaper options , so if you are right in saying that you can offer advertising from £50 a month he will do that as he only sells to a small amount of scoobynet members , contact him with details , ian@godspeedbrakes.co.uk.

Nate , nice to see your still willing to put time and effort into bitching about Ian , but not willing to fit washers into your kit to see what size spacers he had to make for you , surely you could have had time in the two and a half years since you bought the kit ??
I guess thats the problem of buying an incomplete kit from someone on ebay.....

There is no way that kit is going anywhere near my car again ... I value my life too much.

I got the spacers to the correct size, but that did not stop the inner edge of the caliper rubbing on the outer edge of the disc (the caliper I have has been 'ground' out to create more room for the disc to pass, but not enough, and therefore is rubbing. + there is not much more that I would imagine it could be ground down) .

Chris

I would not class it as 'bitching' more like informing people on a public forum of true facts about the kit.

IMO it sounds to me like you are Ian's 'Biatch'

crickey talk about amateur dramatics !

So with you ' imagining ' nothing could be done makes it true then does it , so all the kits this size that they have done over the last say 15 years are all deadly then are they ,

It seems to me that you were never interested in getting the kit on , only to complain , even nearly 3 years down the line , about time you got a life and move on I think.

if you thought it was that bad why didn't you give it back to the person you bought it off ?

I'll give you £100 for it

You keep defending Ian and then state Ian gets very little business via Scoobynet

Why bother then?

AWD,

Someone asked a question as to whether Godspeed was a repautable company, I have put my thoughts across, which are not good. There are obviously people happy with Ian's 'Stuff', and they have said so. Good and Bad are always going to be said about companies, whoever they are, you cannot please 'all' the people 'all' of the time .

I was only contributing to a thread asking peoples thoughts ..........

Even if my problem was from 3 years ago (has it been that long ) , I had those problems, and without typing out the whole scenario, I put the links on here .

A bit sad digging up problems from years ago.

Anyway my mate bought my old classic Impreza and he fitted a big brake kit from Ian, he's delighted with it. Never caused any problems in 40,000 miles and a couple of months back he bought new replacement discs for it, again from Ian.

Also on my recommendations a neighbour bought a 6pot AP kit for his bug-eye WRX from Ian, he's a bit tight with cash, so he bought the Godspeed discs and brackets rather than the genuine AP ones, but it saved him a few hundred quid.

I had all my calipers refurbed and painted red by ian, and he did a very good job on them and was very quick service. they are like now now.

Top Job

i do not think any compaint will have 100% good feed back ever, and if they say they have they are covering something up.

I had the 335 kit fitted by Ian almost 2 years ago, whenever i emailed Ian i got a reply within 24 hours and he was very helpful, when he fitted the kit for me he was also very helpful with questions i was asking and he even lent me his car so i could go and get some breakfast , the kit has been fantastic and i've done a couple of track days and a few track sessions and never had any problems with the brakes, top bloke

Had the 335 kit, mate fitted it some 2 year's ago to my bugeye using the ds2500 pad's ,the pad's are only about 1/2 worn covering approx 12000 mls.
Never had a problem with contact with Ian, the kit fitted perfectly and is very efective during spirited road use!

I bought some two piece STI discs and some Ferodo pads from Ian about 12 months ago. I sent a bankers draft on the Monday and received my order on Wednesday
I was very happy with the service I received from Ian and with his products, I would have no hesitation using Godspeed in the future

I have mixed thoughts about Godspeed.

My first experience was ordering some replacement pads for the Godspeed 355mm kit. Ian was very helpful and even posted them out to me before I had paid for them. he said "I'm sure I can trust you to send me a cheque" which of course I did the following day. Where else can you get that sort of trust from anyone??

Secondly, the experience Jase talked about. Dissapointing that the kit didn't have the correct fittings but, after "I" emailed Ian explaining the problem. The correct fittings arrived the next day in the post.

The other issues I've had with the set up are, the disks need machining down because they catch on the callipers when they get even slightly warm. Not good when you consider the cost of the disks and then the hassle and expense of getting the diameter reduced!

Secondly, the pad's rattle badly at slow speeds, there is no spring system to hold the pads off the grooved disk while the disks are spinning. The result is a fast rattle noise at slow speed. Annoying!!

Finally, despite the above problems, they DO work very very well. I recall my first Impreza having a standard set up which was far from adequate. These do bring you to a halt very very quickly

I've used his services a few times through someone who lives close to him and knows him well.

Every time I've spoken to him he's been very honest about the products he thinks will suit you. I wanted to buy the big shiny Brembos, etc and he had them in stock and was able to supply them. He also had the 335 mm conversion kits that I also wanted as a second choice.

Ended up with stock disks, he grooved them for me and supplied ceramic pads. Less than £100 if I remember rightly.

Very pleased with his services and would definitely use him again.

Hope this helps, Phill
