Tony.
I know mate, bit dubious about putting a standard clutch in my car with the mods done.

Last thing i want is have to pay twice to get it ripped out again and replaced.

May just go for the exedy organic and get the flywheel skimmed

I'm running 470/465 on my 2.5L with 6 speed and AP Racing organic...holding up for now, slips okay but wouldn't like to do many standing starts...keep getting that burnt cabbage smell. I've only launched it once from standing since Bob did tune...my word did it fly, whole car felt like it lifted up a little and thats on big coil overs!

I do like the nature of the AP racing clutch...wouldn't buy a carbon job or anything that wont slip as shortish garage to fit her in...wouldn't want to plant it through the back wall!!

I don't know what they claim I have ' standard ' Exedy Performance clutches taking 400 / 400 in a number of cars and we have just arranged for a harder material to be fitted to the friction discs, independently, and I have one on trial in my own STi 9 car now.

It is taking 400 / 400 with launch control and no problems at all. There are very few cars making a GENUINE 400 and so far we have no problems. I am expecting the one in my car to breach the gap for an organic to take 500.

Wanna be a test pilot ??

Interesting, thanks David...

I would but currently I'm running AP racing 6 speed organic job with fidanza flywheel - all very new and holding up for now, no slip once engaged. I'm hoping to be notching the 490-500 mark with over boost control switch once I've got my AVC-R up and running.
It's interesting that you can do launch control without problems/smell of clutch...makes me think my AP organic wont last as I've had the burnt cabbage smell a few times since she was mapped....

J Banks had same clutch in his 2.5L for miles and miles without problem...

Although...might be interested next year as I'm looking to have my gearbox out to replace the synchro's (she crunches 5th and sometimes 3rd when pushed hard at high revs)...whats the deal with a "test pilot"? Also, you do gearbox repairs from what I've heard, what sort of price would you do the repair for if its box out, replace 2 gears and the synch?
