if that offends then tuff thats my veiw, nothing you can say about it.

if our traditions, laws , culture was embraced at entering the ports of the uk then we would not be debating this topic now, this is a veiw held by millions.

The only people who would use this argument are those that are seeking to devalue the notion of being British and are no better than the liberals that are trying to destroy the British way of life.

Japan have recently started to re-introduce patriotism lessons in school, perhaps that something that needs to be done in the UK to get a nationalist spirit back in place.
So, tell us, oh defender of Britishness - what is the source of your moniker here. Just a hint of not quite being British. Or maybe you are just a fruit

Technically God had completed the creation of Earth on the 3rd day, in fact he created it on the 1st day but it was covered in water. The land appeared to rise from the water on the 3rd day as the water receded, however this hasn't been independently corroborated.

Your reasoning is flawed Kiwi. The question of being a British/English person is not the issue. The issue is the qualification to become British/English, at what point is one deemed to be British?

Vincenzo Coccotti: Sicilians are great liars. The best in the world. I'm Sicilian. My father was the world heavy-weight champion of Sicilian liars. From growing up with him I learned the pantomime. There are seventeen different things a guy can do when he lies to give himself away. A guys got seventeen pantomimes. A woman's got twenty, but a guy's got seventeen... but, if you know them, like you know your own face, they beat lie detectors all to hell. Now, what we got here is a little game of show and tell. You don't wanna show me nothin', but you're tellin me everything. I know you know where they are, so tell me before I do some damage you won't walk away from.

Clifford Worley: You're Sicilian, huh?
Coccotti: Yeah, Sicilian.
Clifford Worley: Ya know, I read a lot. Especially about things... about history. I find that **** fascinating. Here's a fact I don't know whether you know or not. Sicilians were spawned by *******.
Coccotti: Come again?
Clifford Worley: It's a fact. Yeah. You see, uh, Sicilians have, uh, black blood pumpin' through their hearts. Hey, no, if eh, if eh, if you don't believe me, uh, you can look it up. Hundreds and hundreds of years ago, uh, you see, uh, the Moors conquered Sicily. And the Moors are *******.
Coccotti: Yes...
Clifford Worley: So you see, way back then, uh, Sicilians were like, uh, wops from Northern Italy. Ah, they all had blonde hair and blue eyes, but, uh, well, then the Moors moved in there, and uh, well, they changed the whole country. They did so much ****in' with Sicilian women, huh? That they changed the whole bloodline forever. That's why blonde hair and blue eyes became black hair and dark skin. You know, it's absolutely amazing to me to think that to this day, hundreds of years later, that, uh, that Sicilians still carry that ****** gene. Now this...
[Coccotti busts out laughing]
Clifford Worley: No, I'm, no, I'm quoting... history. It's written. It's a fact, it's written.
Coccotti: [Laughing] I love this guy.
Clifford Worley: Your ancestors are *******. Uh-huh.
[Starts laughing, too]
Clifford Worley: Hey. Yeah. And, and your great-great-great-great grandmother ****ed a ******, ho, ho, yeah, and she had a half-****** kid... now, if that's a fact, tell me, am I lying? 'Cause you, you're part eggplant.

so when your family fought for this country the country was worth fighting for, yes?

so why dont you get off your **** and and stop winging about how **** our country is and do something about it. you should try fighting for your country if you want things to change

Gatty,

There are other brown faces in Sparkhill apart from Muslims.

Just because Ladypool Road or wherever, with its surrounding areas have changed, so what?

There have been other changes too you know? Think of the last two World Wars and the changes they brought about.

I have a British family heritage, but you also have to admit by the same arguments on here there is no such thing as Kiwis, Aussies, Pakistanis, Hong Kongese (?) , Singaporean, Belgian, French etc etc

I would say when you become a citizen. But also there should be a reasonable amount of effort to integrate and support Britain.

But once again we have double standards which all the immigrants demand.

For example as a white anglo-saxon male I could never call myself Pakistani or Chinese, even if I was born in those countries.

But Kiwi,

British people and society have changed so much, why is that not recognised? And what is new today will become the norm and, dare I say it, 'British' tomorrow.

That is a wonderful thing about British culture and how adaptable and absorbing it is.

Where do you draw the line?

Gatty would have you believe that Boudicca and her friends were riding around on chariots until the 1950's, when the first large scale non white immigrants entered the UK. Then and only then did it all go downhill.

On that point I agree with you wholeheartedly and only a fool would argue against it. Britain has enabled me to have an education, a good job and this opportunity to converse with people on t'internet.

We are, and we are the only race to ever do this. The Europeans really are the only ones to invite or include other races in our society (not just as "guests")

What needs to be pointed out, is that there are people in this country who will define "Britishness" as a function of not being obviously brown, black or yellow, regardless of HOW many generations of your family have been resident here.

Hold on Gatty!

That makes perfect sense, but you have already stated, at least twice on this thread, that I can never be a 'Brit', I presume because of my skin colour?

It's true some people may never accept a non white person as a Brit or equal fellow human being. I don't believe Gatty to be that way inclined.
