But your roots are most probably Germanic (although more likely a mix of germanic, east european/russian and alpine europe down to middle east and so on).
English culture has always evolved from the various cultures that it comes into contact with. A nice cup of Tea, that chinese thing for example. Curry being hte national dish and so on. Simply, the 'English' culture is a hybrid of many cultures and is constantly changing and evolving. In 500 years time it will be somewhat different now as it was 500 years ago.
What are these standards? Where did they come from? I'll bet they came from some 'ethnic' group, much like your blood.

there was a line drawn when we became civalized some time ago we as a nation of normans , saxons etc.. actually got our ***** into gear and became civalized. the main objective was onwards and upwards striving for better , better standards maintaining respect punishing hard for crime etc.. then all of a sudden the asian invasion 40 years on and we are here now ......gutter level.

you can stick your sick way of killing animal(halal) curry up your tea towl holder , the national dish will always be fish and chips , dont be fooled by that curry myth.

The germanic and french which we are (this country is named after the german tribes that came here in case you're interested in our country's history) turned round and became 'civilised' about when? The civilised-ness of us evolved out of many wars, battles etc and the death that it all brought and as a country we needed to reduce the bloodshed and became more and more civilised out of this.
Do you seriously believe this country is at gutter level and is all due to the 'asian invasion' 40 years ago?
If the country is at gutter level, the fault is to be put at certain policiticans who, as our representatives, created this state of affairs. T.Blair being the main one at the moment.
I'm not saying we change our culture, anything but. However, we should do what we've always done and that is take the good bits of incoming culture and leave the bad bits.
Fish and chips hasn't always been the national dish, it is now I agree more so than curry, however I very much doubt it will 'always' be the national dish. What will it be in a 100 years time, who knows!

Some thought provoking issues raised and articulately conveyed. Now Gatty and I have had our exchanges in the past, sometimes we agree sometimes we don't. We are both entitled to our opinions as someone once said 'opinions are like arseholes and everyone's except mine stinks'. Gatty has just reason in his mind for feeling the way he does, I honestly don't think he's some shaven headed, Doc Marten wearing neo ****. He must not be so blinkered in his thinking however (my opinion only Gatty) there are good and bad in all races that's a FACT. Accept that every race has it's share of bad apples pro rata
(joke), however do not castigate a race as a whole on the basis of actions of a few.

@ bubba thats a good one.asif, i have major issues with the generic muslim issue the way they colonise do not intergrate think there above our laws, 25 % asbos are given to young asian lads (these are our future) the list goes on!. Your all lodgers here until you toe the line millions of British folk will not accept them as true nationals until these issues are solved.

einstein you understand people well, i do have friends across the culteral board there my frinds because we get on they all know my veiws as well as i know theres.
A very good friend of mine is English living in duisborg germany he is an active anti **** leauge fanatic ............. he his a very good mate . we row about blues villa more than anything else.
