True, it is sad, but I've been on the other side of the fence.

A while back, heading home one summers evening from work, I got stuck in the mother of all traffic jams on the M** due to an accident ahead. I was in the 205 Gti (tuned and no slouch!). Strangely, by the time the traffic started to clear there was a 205Gti in front of me, one in front of him, a scoob to the left of me, and another scoob behind him. This should be interesting...

For some reason the traffic cleared very suddenly, and we were faced with pretty much empty motorway. We all seemed to have the same thought:

Loads of traffic Police behind = Not much chance of police ahead

No police = Foot to the floor

I immediately pulled out a distance from the 205's, so I was chuffed. Didn't see the scoobs until I was already into silly speeds, but they were coming up *fast*. Wound the window down (no leccy windows y'see) and stuck my thumb in the air to signal my approval as the scoobs came past at a serious rate of knots. Got a huuuge grin from both drivers as they passed me.

Now the boot's on the other foot... Weird how things turn out, innit...

late lastnight i was lucky enough to get blasted from the lights by a P1..he nailed it off big stylie all four spinning.

i was in a civic vtec so no chance of being able to get jiggy with it

I didn't start this thread expecting it to turn into a
'I'm better than them - cause I have a scooby thread..'

and by the way... coming home from Taunton on Sunday night an MX5 blasted past me and it was pouring with rain... nothing wrong with MX5's in fact I have one, and to be honest it's much more fun in the wet as you never know when you're going to lose the back end.

You guys should have to come to the Isle of White with us!

22 cars (one Evo and one Volvo) with assorted scoobs inclusing 3 P1s, 2 or 3 RB5s, 22B, 2 MY01s and every other variation and modification going.

The number of locals that just stopped and stared as we drove around (at the speed limits in the towns) as we went past was great.

The best though was when Dr Evil, KimA/DomA (can't remember who was driving) were heading back to the ferry and we took a wrond turn. All my windows were down, it was warm and the exhaust nt is nice.

As I waited (tail ender) to turn the kids sitting on a wall watching had a conversation along the lines of:

1st kid "I saw eight of them yesterday, they were really loud."
2nd kid "No you didn't there aren't eight here."
1st kid "I did and they were really loud."

At this point it was starting to turn and I felt a little sorry for the first kid, getting more grief than I have written for liking the cars.

As I went past I punched it in first, the result was a very loud growl follwed by a bang form the exhaust at which the first kid cheered and stood on the pavement giving a double thumbs up. I waved I gently went round the corner.

MX5 only 140bhp even in 1.8i form so nuff said me thinksalthough just 2 further gloat 0-60 in 8 sex. Nice car don't get me wrong but it aint no beast like!
