The XR4i had an open diff, the US only XR4Ti had an LSD
Mazda MX5 Mk1 1.8iS MrsD's has got 125K on the clock & the diff is still as tight as a drum It's also for sale, if anyone's interested.

Joking aside, I thought it was relevant in this case, as ( 2nd guessing the poster's intent ) he may be looking for a fun car to learn a bit about oversteer in, which the XR4x4 will do in extremis. Either that or he perhaps wants to source a cheap LSD which could be fitted in a comparable rwd car ....such as an XR4i

Early M3 had one, and an nice ZF Box too.
Circa 1984 Starion Turbo 2ltr had it as an option, as did the Galant Turbo.
Circa 1979 Toyota Celica TC 2.0GT had one (Fitted nicely in the back of a Mk2 Escort )
We used to weld them up on the Banger racers, you need an arc welder to do it and a car will 'bunny hop' around corners on the road with it done.

XRs tend to last longer than normal Sierras because they were built & painted properly in Germany Rather than thrown together by the lazy, strike happy English

They don't fall into the 'cheap' bracket anymore though Andy, especially now the Paddies are buying them all up for throwing at the scenery
