Tiny - As first suspected, your touchscreen is built in and there doesn't seem to be the option of using it on a PC setup. The touchscreen is only for the operating system built into your Kenwood unit.
Basically the touchscreen i have used and which is more commonly available for CarPC applications, is like a standard computer monitor, ie has a VGA cable, but with the addition of a touchscreen overlay which plugs into a USB slot on the PC. This obvioulsy eliminates the need of a mouse etc.
Your screen 'could' take a computer input for visual (ie via RGB or composite input) but you could not control the system via the touchscreen.
Your Kenwood seems an excellent media system and i guess you could cram about 60- 80 MP3 albums onto a single DVD disc with the addition of bolt on extras like TV interface etc.
Don't let a little set back like this put you off though mate, just means you get a nice new Guccii screen !!!!
